Yeah, looking like not much change in terms of tangible facts to the situation we are facing.
One Wing has caused this whole issue across the Corps. Easier to ban Wing for a period and highlight to others!!
No, BUT this is the most engaged I’ve seen SLT involved in org-wide comms as far back as I can remember. Small steps, but steps in the right direction.
Admin burden…here we go…well maybe not…
There’s a theme here tonight. Something about resources…
Digitising doesn’t equal admin reduction
It can, but not normally at the volunteer level.
Looks like no huge change on VA imminently then given that it’s laid down in JSP 814 rather than being a policy HQAC have control over.
I interpret what he said differently. The RATES are set, but he hasn’t mentioned the volume of days.
He’s a politician. Just been asked directly about VA but isn’t really saying what the plan is. Just “Something needs to change”. That’s not an answer.
What would Vorders say???
Ok, nevermind, he clearly doesn’t understand what volunteering actually is if he’s talking about paying for the “above and beyond day job”
So VA stays, at the moment. Bet we get two weeks notice of change, bet its 01 Sep whilst people are waiting for their summer camp money!!
Glad to hear there is at least an admission that the PTS is generally not fit for purpose. It is a good thing for the organisation to admit ‘what we are doing now is not good, that needs to change’.
Yeah, nevermind. “Need to make sure our volunteers are actually volunteering.” What does he think we’re actually doing?
I do like what’s being said about training at the moment now though, but does seem like a long lead time.
Blue/Bronze at local level is a great idea - especially if this can be applied to Road Marching too. Getting cadets to walk 15/20/25km to qualify for blue is way OTT.
Hes never volunteered with us.
He has no idea.
He did make/hint at a good point. Those who are doing 40 days, and 2 nights a week, but are only claiming 28 or less, that is volunteering.
If some people are claiming 40 days and that’s all they’re doing, then that’s not volunteering. And is a potential legal issue. That seemed to be what was being hinted at any way.
We can’t pay VA to X if they are filling a HQ Job role, as they are then effectively employed and that comes with legal issues.
“Talent within CFAV cadre”
Holy hell, are we about to recognise CFAV civilian abilities!?
