You know what really makes me laugh?

Or is he? He is the only accused where a photo has been released, and indeed, (from what I’ve seen in the media) the only publicly accused of physical abuse. There are arguments which could be made about how aware Epstein’s ‘friends’ were about how Giuffre and others were procured, as to their level of willingness/coercion. But there can be no denying that they should have suspected that it was at the least dodgy as heck!

@daws1159 You of all here should be aware that a lack of publicly available evidence does not preclude any evidence of wrongdoing by others… Otherwise we end up with trial by media for only one person when it is certain that if evidence presented in court is true, that there are more who are at fault.

Oh, look, we have a trial by the baying pack of the media…

Again, before anyone deliberately ignores the meaning of my actual words, I’m not defending Andrew.

Well he did have a chance to defend himself in court, instead he decided to slip her £12M, that doesn’t exactly reek of innocence.

Lots of his problems now stem less from her accusations but that he continued his friendship with Epstein, that he lied about it and that if can be proven that he lied about it.

I wasn’t arguing those points…

Sometimes an effective strategy against such difficult odds is to apply all force to a small crack in the defences and then hope that when you take one domino, the rest may start falling.

And start to feel achievable.

We’re talking about immensely powerful people.

Sticking with a theme… “why did Andrew get SO much more attention than others…?”

It’s also worth considering that given his nature - and his “position” / sphere of influence - or rather lack thereof… I suspect he simply didn’t have much in the way of “protection” or support.

Until the files are finally published in their entirely (if they ever are), we’ll never really know just HOW bad the dirt is on him.

My guessing is that it’s a similar level - though possibly less than Trump.

But the puppeteers operating Trump had already gone to great length to stack the Judiciary, FBI, SCOTUS, Congress, Senate etc… in their favour… that anyone trying to pull any move on Trump etc, will be “dealt with”.

The ICE goon squad is already financed more than the FBI.

What was Andrew going to do? Threaten them with barring them from any future shooting weekends? Make them use their own Pozza Express loyalty card?

From the start, Andrew should have kept his mouth shut, and maintain the usual Royal Family position of “we will not comment on these frivolous claims” etc…

12m USD, must have bought some media / PR advice.

I’m guessing there’s enough powerful Democrat & Republican politicians, judges, glitterati etc in the files… so they looked at the ONE person they could legitimately go after, especially after the ham-fisted way Andrew handled the photograph.

Why didn’t he just say - “yes, I DO vaguely remember this lady - I must confess I don’t remember the exact details, but she asked if she could she have a photo, so I obliged”.

He then asked his mum for £12m and hoped that would be the end of it… and look how that turned out.

I also not doubt that there are expensive lawyers fighting her case, that wanted paying…

Listening to The News Agents… they went to great lengths to explain that the impetus from Buck House to resolve all this, was NOT because of William.

Apparently the PoW, was at pains to try to be human about it all - and made a point of reminding everyone that Andrew’s mental health was seriously in question. (Mental health being a subject close to William’s heart).

Whereas The King, drove the point home by making it clear that THIS could be the death knell for the whole Royal Family - and asked “what would your mother think of this?”

Michael Heseltine still knows what he’s talking about!

Heseltine is a deluded eurofanatic who wanted the UK in the euro, that idea was stopped by Gordon Brown when he refused to join the euro. Heseltine was receiving massive subsidies from the eu (for that read British taxpayers money) for his arboretum as well.

Pots and kettles from Heseltine, who was also privately educated.

" He was educated at Broughton Hall in Eccleshall, Staffordshire, when it was briefly amalgamated with Brockhurst Preparatory school, Bromsgrove School, Worcestershire, and Shrewsbury School, Shropshire.["

The odious Blair.
" With his parents basing their family in Durham, Blair attended the Chorister School from 1961 to 1966.[18] Aged 13, he was sent to boarding at Fettes College in Edinburgh from 1966 to 1971.[19]"

The choices made by parents shouldn’t be used to criticise their children.

So, are we better off out of Europe? It is great having a pocket full of cash and being able to spend it in many countries.

Trying to leave the whole continent might be tricky

You can spend cash worldwide, the US$ is always acceptable, in particular in the third world.

There are people living today who wouldn’t be if we’d waited for the EU to approve vaccines and/or were part of their procurement regime. We’d have also been locked down for even longer, at further tremendous cost.

Besides that, we could be a lot better off if we’d left properly and taken advantage of the freedoms.

That wasn’t true in 2020 and isn’t true now. Stop spreading old lies.

We all know that even though we ‘could have’ approved it ourselves from within the EU, we wouldn’t have. The Civil Service used the EU as a shield against delivering the policies of elected governments. Just like we never returned anyone under the Dublin agreement.

No we don’t know, and we were still in the transition period when we approved the vaccines,

von der Lyon actually broke the GFA to stop vaccines moving from euroland to the UK and got her knuckles rapped. Plus they were far behind the regulatory curve and in upscaling vaccine production, mainly down to the French holding everything up so that Sanofi could have a chunk of the production of their own vaccine, which they failed to produce.

von der Leyen and the truth are sometimes strangers to each other, same as when she was the german defence secretary until Merkel shuffeled her off to europe.

Maybe when we’ve figured it out we can leave the pedants behind

The funniest part of today in parliament was the Tory Leader miscounting his questions.
