Makes me laugh that the prison service releasing the wrong people is suddenly news, it’s a weekly occurrence if not more than that.
But it wasn’t until it was a migrant sex offender that it made headlines. Funny that.

Looking at the stats it is up more than 100% in the last 12 months so actually that is a bit newsworthy.
I agree, that is a stat that would be worthy of the news headline! But I didn’t even know that, even with all this extra media attention.

given there are 365 days a year, and 104 of those are on the weekend - leaving 261 “working days” - that is one a day!

I’ve had them to take a defendant from a London to prison to Cardiff when he was supposed to be appearing in London.
Probably because Cardiff had a bed.
The system is stupid, the prison on the IoW doesn’t do video conferences, so you have to actually go.

This suddenly makes a lot more sense, I would not be surprised at all if the cause of the recent increase is court resulting, because the new software for court results has been an absolute nightmare.
