I don’t normally get that stressed by it. But many people in here are Ex-Serving or still do. Today is a day where many of us are saying farewell to the sovereign we swore life and loyalty to.
My own parents are not monarchists and my dad is especially vocal about it. Any other day but today, views like that do not phase me, or many people who owe the family their allegiance.
I live on a building site and any other Bank Hol they down tools… today though they decided to run a bulldozer up and down outside from 8am. Come 11am I was outside giving them a talking to.
They were anti-monarchists - I reminded them that they are welcome to their opinion but that respect cuts both ways. Thankfully they backed down and gave us peace until 1300.
Now if they could work out a way to have some of the mandatory training count towards additional qualifications you might see a bigger uptake.
Though I have no idea how you’d do that or whether the qualification it could lead to would be useful. I could imagine though that risk assessment and the H&S stuff could be tied into an H&S qual if tweaked. Then those for whom it would be useful in daily life could upgrade to the full thing
