You know what really makes me happy?

it is a vicious circle i suspect…

Wing won’t consider a bigger venue until there is sufficient interest,
sufficient interest won’t occur until a bigger venue is considered.

Those who don’t go, won’t think about going, so if the venue increased in size to accommodate them, the same people would still not go…

Our Wing is always paranoid about costs too, so the idea of not filling a venue/selling out is not only failure and embarrassment but a cost they won’t want to bare.
far better to have an annual event which is a success financially, yet excludes a significant portion of potential attendees, than risk losing money

I’ve always preferred a casual bbq to a formal dining in - though I do enjoy both for different reasons.

This is what we were provisionally planning for last summer. Wing parade practice in the morning, early afternoon wing parade with all the VIPs… Then a BBQ in the afternoon, general concensus was that it was a good idea just covid slammed the breaks on it… One for 2022 I guess

First post lockdown Adv Trg cleared on SMS. Out on the hills in June, Can’t wait.

Our wing try’s to move the venue about every year to get a hotel in a sector’s area then rotate it to another sector the following year and try to have the hall big enough for about 200 people.

It does seem to work but you do see some people who refuse to go for various reasons. Some of which annoy me as they make accusations without actually going to one.

Quad band mate, you need a quad band vaccinne for it to work here.

Had my second y’day.

Sew fah, eye feal awl rite!

A bit warm being wrapped in tin foil to block off the signal from the tracking device!

I’ve had both my vaccinations.

A day after the second one, I had a telepathic thought which could only have come from Bill Gates, telling me that he knows exactly where I am…

Nothing to do with the GPS enabled mobile phone in your pocket?

Drive down the seafront to get some chips for dinner. After a couple of busy days in work, it’s a much needed breather.

Whitley Bay?

Roker. I haven’t been to Whitley Bay in a while! I do like Tynemouth but it’s a bit of a trek from my home.

Was last there in Sep 19. I used to spend a lot of weekends there back in the 60’s when it was a proper seaside town!.
