I don’t know much about laptops, but I could built myself a very high end PC for less than that
I picked up a Lenovo Legion i5 with 16gb RAM, 256nvme SSD and 6GB rtx2060 graphics for 680 in online deal. Between 800 and 1000 should get you something more than capable of using for flight Sims. A quick Google shows the likes of Littlewoods and Very have some decent cashback offers

Last time I checked the latest gaming GPUs are about 1200 min
For the moment it’s inflated the second hand market as well.
Pre builts can look pretty good at the moment if you shop around and avoid anything too proprietary for later upgrading.
Crypto mining driving them up aswell as supply issues
Depends what you class as high end I guess.
GPUs are overrated… I use a cluster of about 450 at work

EGPUs might be an option? Somewhere local is selling an EGPU chassis for under 200.
They don’t work with the new Macs or it would be a no brainier

Congrats to both 
Receiving my commission scroll today. Yes it’s not a VR one so to many of you is pointless but it means something to me. It came undamaged in a tube, not folded in an envelope, and the paper quality was pretty good. The signatures could have been better yes, but I’ve seen much worse on official documents.

When did you commission? Just so I might get an idea of when I expect mine
22/01/2021 (big delays getting into OIC). Apparently there was a backlog for a while as they were changing the signatories but they seem to be pumping then out now. The scroll was dated 16/3/21 and then got sent to my old unit so I’m not sure how long that added to the time. But either way not long at all.
I commissioned in Nov 19, did my OIC order n December 2020 and still haven’t had my scroll… feeling hard done by now!
