We don’t have a bittersweet thread, so here it is…
I just watched the Top Gear tribute to Sabine Schmitz. Hit hard at some points, but I was still smiling all the way through at all the the clips I remember of her grinning and laughing while others feared for their life (or threw up).
Quite well. NCOs only to guide them through the new rules and procedures. We’re fortunate to have a lot of secure outdoor space, so spent the last majority of time outside. When inside, abide by the one way system, wear masks, and stay distanced.
Nice to see everyone again. Some gopping haircuts on them, though.
Parades with flight bubbles of 15 will start shortly, and we’ll see where we get to.
Most ‘parades’ will be informal, civvies affairs for a while, we’ll do a uniform audit, badge and qualification audit, outdoor sports and distanced drill, but keep it casual. That should get us through the next 5/6 weeks, by which point more restrictions will ease and we’ll see where we are.
On a similar note I’ve just emailed all staff, parents and cadets to let them know we’ll be back from the beginning of May for the first time since March 2020!
(Staff already knew of course, but bcc’d them in all the same).
We’re in the ACF part, because it was refitted last summer. We’re in here because our half of the compound has been completely gutted in preparation for a complete refit!
First drill session tonight with our new recruits. They are all in the same year group bubble which makes things a lot easier. They all seemed to get it first time as well which was nice.
