They triage you.
Then considering many minor issues sort themselves out, itâs much easier to have people keep calling back than trying to manage missed appointments and late cancellations later.
Theyâre filling what they have in priority order. Youâve got to keep priority slots open day-to-day.

Finally completed my BEng.
Only gone through the first marker now. Just awaiting on the confirmation marks, but it looks like in spite of the 240 days away this year, lack of support from work and dealing with my own and the kids neurospicyness, Iâm only 0.4% off a First. So itâs looking like a high 2:1.
See if they round that up

They normally round to the nearest full percentage (although this does vary by institution), so if youâre showing 69.6% right now they should round up to 70% - this is exactly what happened with my bachelors.
Also if you have special circumstances (Iâd imagine time away for work would count given nature of your work) they can up marks by a few points. Worth the ask.
âŚand I have no idea why autocorrect tried to change âspecialâ for âapricotâ. Maybe it knows something we donât.

The comments about generally marking up above aside, they also commonly do âprofilingâ where if youâve gotten a higher percentage on average for the higher credit later-year modules, they bump you up for that.
For my uni, youâre:
- Eligible to be profiled if your score is above 0.68
- If 120 credits across 2nd/3rd year (min half in 3rd year) are in the higher classification, they bump up the overall classification degree-wide.
Obviously this is me-specific, but Iâd be surprised if itâs not commonplace in some form.
My degree had a similar thing they called cascading, where the more recent and/or higher graded modules counted for more. I canât remember how, but it saved me from getting a third (back when 2:2 was the norm).

MMH, my inner nerd is pleased. Just found out my fibre install is full 5gb/s download rated. I have literally no way of saturating that fully. Best I can do is 2500mbps on my PC whilst simultaneously doing 1100mbps on my phone! Crazy!

Thatâs amazing, I get 18-20mb on a good day, if the wind is in the right direction and the planets are aligned
MMH: Motor mileage rebate (govt, not RAFAC) is increasing by 10p/mile for the first 10k miles.
Should equate to around an extra ÂŁ40/week for me!

I seem to remember the last time we called for that we were told âno, because itâs the MOD rateâ.
Then the MOD put it up by something daft like 2p and RAFAC said âweâre not putting it upâ.
Unless Iâve hallucinated all of that.
