Also apparently just before crashing the RAM may have been deployed which would indicate a hydrolic failure
That would explain the gear still be down too

RATās either produce electrical or hydraulic power, I donāt know if they can undertake both functions in the 787.
My first thought - irrespective of failure (unless hydraulic - not familiar with the 787 systems / complexities) - āPositive rateā = āGEAR UP.ā
Again, not familiar with the 787, but some aircraft can perform flapless take-offs.
EDIT - from discussion elsewhere (& rattling some more thoughts around my brain):
The BEFORE TAKEOFF electronic checklist will not show as completed unless the flap position indication agrees with the flap setting entered into the CDU. If that is missed, a CAUTION is issued: CHKLIST INCOMPLETE NORM as the aircraft lines up on the CDU-entered runway.
Flaps up instead of gear up could be on the list of possibilities? Fuel contamination? Double engine birdstrike (I didnāt like flying in / out of Indian airports, lots of bird activity at times)?
The 787 is a very sleek wing - a Flap 5 or Flap 10 setting might be hard to see.
Not sure this story belongs in this thread.
Absolute insane that someone has survived. Saw the video earlier today and was certain that no one could have made it.
My fatherās day presents:
A Bluey Snow Globe. (Which my son immediately took back for his own.)
A Star Wars drinking glass, (This is actually the second one as my son already broke the one they bought two weeks ago)
A photo keyring
A double packet of chocolate Hobnobs (with two missing Hobnobs)
Now weāre off to the Harbour for a paddle.
I treated myself to a Redemptor Dreadnought as a birthday/fatherās day gift. Going to start that and do a LOTR Extended Edition marathon, then takeaway from the nice Indian later. Chocolate samosa and chicken tikka Laphroaig masala here I come.
Your statement interests me and I would like to subscribe to the Newsletter.
This is the recipe I use when I make my own, but theyāre not a patch on the ones from the restaurant.

Roz Ana on the hill towards the hospital. You should try it sometime. Not the cheapest, but worth it. The new Indian next to it is also pretty good
Iām intrigued.
I like curry and like whisky. But never thought of that combo!
Good on 740 Whitby for getting into the BBC. Anyone local to them and can help out?
Any chance of SIās from Fylingdales up the road?
Iāve plonked it on a RAF + Families Facebook page.
Three more Silver shooting badges (to add to the 3 from a week ago).
One female cadet - looks to be a natural - shot exceptionally well, including a 42 ex-50 standing!
