I’d abandoned Windows and moved to Linux Mint, so that I don’t have to buy a new PC for Windows 11. I got Steam working under Linux and finally installed a first game, which worked perfectly. Gaming is back

Whilst we are on about vacuum cleaner maintenance- word to the wise.
Make sure your spaniels are in their crates whilst conducting maintenance
Otherwise you’re having to shell out for a new grooved belt for your brush rotors……

Passing my first karate grading at the weekend. (We’ll ignore that my son is three belts ahead of me). Was a fun experience, though I was four times older than the average candidate, and three times older than the next oldest. Hopefully I catch up with the rest of the adult class soon. 
It’s slowly helping with the weight loss, which has gone completely out the window over the last year of hell. Beginning to feel more human again with finding hobbies

It’s interesting, and it happens in al walks of life. My fist CS role was public facing, I helped real people each and every day, solved problems, got payments, etc etc. Having moved up 4 roles since then, I now administer a grant which helps thousands each year, however my friend who is doing the same job still as I used to doesn’t think I’m actually making a difference to people anymore. Its different, but still needed.

My FS told me that i was her star cadet! Its a rlly small thing but i was having a bad day and that made it 10 times better. though getting new cds also makes me pretty happy

Just got a “too good to go” bag from the local bakery near work, I ordered a hot bag and was expecting to get maybe some sausage rolls and a couple of bakes.
3 hot baguettes
2 personal pizzas
10 sausage rolls
6 steak bakes
5 vegan sausage rolls
2 Cornish pasty’s.
Not bad for £4.75 and I’m now a hero in the office.

I stayed somewhere once where they left a small bottle outside the door in the morning from the local farm.
Can’t really top that.
But does it have real coffee?
Got awarded top performer in europe last night at the work kick off! Makes the last rough year worth it!
