You know what really makes me happy?

They make whatever you ask them to, you send in your approved artwork and they send you a proof to check. So if you have an officially approved badge it should have a white background and they’ll make that.

MMH - and giving me warm fuzzy feels - seeing a Lynx Wildcat with it’s little winglets fully tooled up. It looks so mean!!!

Video here (can only find it on Facebook for some reason)

Good to see a couple of cadets in the latest video on the RAF YouTube channel.

And a good job done by both of them I’d say

I tell this story to our cadets - we were on the same sqn (1024 IOW) - he was alway going to be joining the British Army - he was fitter than a butcher’s dog & could do numerous press-ups on 2 fingers. Always smiling, a huge loss.

His father was our sqn WO, but then moved to the Army Cadets. His step-mother ran the local Girls Venture Corps.

Just before Peter joined up, he was presented a team pentathlon trophy by Lord Mountbatten (Lord Lieutenant for the IOW) - Lord Mountbatten was of course murdered the same day as the Warren point bombings

A neighbouring Scout group (which has its own hall so can do things properly) had a full roll of honour from 1939 onwards.

The number on the list and their ages always made me take a step back. A lot were RAF jnr officers who may well have been pilots. From the dates they paid the ultimate price during the Battle of Britain.

This is fantastic. We’re actually using the comment function now when documents are reuploaded on sharepoint, allowing a quick overview of what’s changed, if anything. Progress!

We have at least one cadet from our Sqn from WW2. He died aged 17.

.

We should remember the 55 air cadets killed during WWII. Maybe the social media gurus at HQAC should use this time to remember those cadets.

British Legion Festival of Remembrance - as always, very poignant.

Some dust in the air, especially for the laying of the red roses.

Not sure where else to put this, but could be useful for S&EM Wing.

I watching it on the train into work this morning, didn’t get home in time last night.

Should be collecting uniform for new intake later this week from parent unit.

So, did the shoe magic polishing + iron demo last night. Suitable dusters handed out. About half had never had to clean “hard” shoes before (what are brushes, never mind what is polish!) & about a third hadn’t used an iron! With 15 cadets, I limited the hands on with the iron to only 3 irons on the basis of safety supervision requirements!!

No excuses for when they turn up wearing their blues.

The youth of today! I had to teach a graduate today how to tie a Windsor knot. But it was nice to see someone enjoying learning a new akill

Ah yes, about 10 of them were pointed at YouTube for a Windsor knot…

I can’t tie one anymore, no one’s noticed yet, and it’s been ten years
