Peterborough was a hoot, Newcastle a little less so for me. It took me about 3 days to sober up, post-Peterborough. Had quite a laugh with Louis V (can’t recall his username) as he got very stocious. The Marksman was good value and so was a young lady called Rena. Dick the Stick was also there and getting smashed. I hate to think how long it took to clean up the building after we’d finished.

Prepping my uniform ready for Lord Mayor’s Show tomorrow. Been too long since I’ve been on a proper parade.
Just need to work on getting a rifle drill squad for next year so I can whack out the sword.

Found my old Playstation at my parents house last weekend.
Found this game-
On Amazon (other online retailers are available) for about £7. I used to play this as one of the first games I ever played (It was released in the UK two days before my wife was born), ans is what got me into grand space games.
Missus is out tonight on a ladies night, so I’ve got the most £3-y bottle of red from Lidl, going to fire it up and relive easier times.
Should be a giggle.

Not played any of the others.
Game looks like an absolute potato by today’s standards…but it’s been a good laugh.
Booked a holiday at last. A few days in Budapest at the end of the month. Anyone been and got any tips or recommendations?

Definitely do the big thermal baths. Been a few years since I went but I really enjoyed them.

End of the month? I’d spend at least a day getting the Metro 1 out to Heros square (because the M1 has awesome stations), checkout the ice staking lake and weird Disney esque castle, then hit the thermal baths in City Park.
We also crossed over the river and spent some time at Buda Castle and the Catacombs. That side also has the kids railway… Which is great in the summer - but last time I did it in November, we got to the top and couldn’t see anything!!
Christmas markets are worth a look. Parliament building is epic. The city is pretty mad for geocaching too - we found some of my favourite ever ones there (I know. It’s kinda niche).
Also, sounds cliché, but a Hop on, Hop off bus trip including a river cruise was pretty good for setting the scene, getting your bearings and working out what works.

You should come across them as you walk along the river, but if not, the statutes of shoes on the side of the river to honour the Jews that were massacred there.

Oh. And if it’s rubbish, go back in the Summer because it’s an entirely different City!!! Margaret’s Island does amazing concerts, ice cream, a pool park and is a really nice place to go and explore. They also do some SUP rental so you can explore the Danube… BUT - paddling the Danube is graft! It’s like paddling the Thames - and has lots of floating trees and gubbins to help trip you up!!!
