You know what really makes me happy?

Where you with her in a shop at the time and quietly slunk off to the nearest pub to take cover. She’s not with me Guv, honest.

Not this time.

I’m feeling like death warmed up with a chest and sinus infection, the doctor told me off for leaving it a few days to see her ). Wife left early this morning as her school have an all day rehearsal for the musical. Was dreading dealing with all three kids on my own. Vicar’s wife showed up at 9 saying she heard I was ill and solo parenting (her daughter is in the musical).

She sent me back to bed and did a cooked breakfast for everyone. Just took the kids to the park whilst I ate my breakfast in bed and watched Doctor Who reruns.

Genuinely can’t remember the last time I got any slack on parenting/housework duties whilst ill. Even with Covid I had to do 7pm to 8 am pretty much solo. So grateful for the new vicar and their family. I thought it was great they sent dinner round the day the eldest had her tonsils out but this was really needed.

Really enjoyed delivering a Camping Leader course today for 9 CFAVs, the last one before I have a 12 month break. Nice to be outside having quality discussions and chat.

Plus my Tuscan Bean Stew made from scratch on a meths trangia for lunch was epic.

I had forgotten all about that beauty.

EDIT: And now I’ve been driven down a rabbit hole of internet research and realised he’s married to my old housemate’s sister. Another random “almost connection” to go along with being married by Paul Hollywood’s uncle.

The song/remix made me spit coffee in M&S when I first watched it!

No 5s arrived today. Slightly long in the legs, but otherwise not a bad fit considering my dodgy measurements

Did you order straight from Cranwl? What was the turn around time?

I ordered from Goodalls. Ordered on 25 September, although I did pay a little extra for express service.

Finding my asthma inhaler is cheaper with a private prescription than NHS

Why is this not common knowledge??

There are a lot of drugs far cheaper with a private presecription, but the charge pays for those drugs which thousands of pounds to prescribe even for patients with the community.

Normally I don’t mind paying a bit more. Just a bit cash low the next few months as I move from salary to waiting for solicitors to pay for services rendered. Once I build up a back log of invoices owing the cash flow should resolve, but for now I’m really watching the pennies.

Fair comment.

I took her to the Drs this eve…they had a sign saying patience should self purchase (insert list of drugs) as they wont be prescribed unless if its an ongoing and current chronic illness…

That ladies & gents is the modern NHS. Dont say i disagree paracetamol is 20p in Asda and the NHS oay £80 for it.

It almost shouldn’t be available on the NHS, it also says a lot about government spending at all levels.
