The ship sinks at the end…

Great, ruined the ending of Titanic for m…oooh wrong film :grimacing:

That moment where you’ve had a Paddleboard in your basket all month, waiting for that last Friday to come so you can hit the “buy it now” button…

… And that day arrives… And coincides with Obi-Wan Day!

It’s like a double win!!!

And stranger things!

Getting back on the mountain bike after a bit of a layoff. Dry trails, shiny new powerful brakes = some cracking fast descents.

Was at the sqn yesterday doing some prep work ready for the jubilee party.

Needed some fixing on the simulator, so sorted that. Then…My 4 Yr old daughter wanted to fly…

So after some very quick blue wings-style instruction (push forward in the stick, houses get bigger…) she was flying.

Great to see her doing it, headset on, making basic turns, keeping it level, and trying out some loops…

Making me very happy, and restoring my faith in humanity at least for the moment:

I saw on Facebook last week that an old chap died without any family in a care home aged 98, a WW2 Scots Fusiliers vet who’d served 4 years on the front line in Italy and the Middle East. He’d lost his sight in the last few years and his favourite things to do were listen to the local football team who he’d been supporting forever on the radio and hold his medals which were his most prized possession.

After he passed, the crematorium’s celebrant put out an appeal on Facebook for anyone to attend so the chap wouldn’t go alone. It ended up being shared thousands of times and the RBL send standard bearers, the army sent a detail with a piper and a wreath, a local veteran biker group turned up to escort the cortege, a local company provided a union flag and cap badge for the coffin, and countless other gestures that gave this fella a proper send off.

There must’ve been at least 100 people there, including people from all 3 services in uniform. I was proud to be there this afternoon and it’s something I won’t be forgetting for a very long time.

It goes to show that social media isn’t all that evil in the end.

Finished version 1 of a glowing hoop for FPV Drone flying. I’m building 6 in total with Red (Left) and Green (Right) LED strips so I can layout a course for cadets(and myself) to fly.
