You know what really makes me happy?

MM very very H… just arrived here and will be here for the week. Lots of champagne to be drunk (when in Rome!…)

MMH… what you can find in French supermarkets. Anyone for 1900 port?

Does that say €669?!?!

If that was in a supermarket near me it would be in an alarmed cage

It does. Nearby was a Pomerol from the 1800s for just €19995, no security tag!

Presumably the real one is out the back? Wouldn’t something that old need temperature/atmosphere control to stop it spoiling?

That label looks just the right amount of ‘distressed’ to be suspish.

Sadly not, it was in a darkened cabinet but not laid down which disappointed me slightly

Avoid - no way a cork that old will be in good condition if not looked after.

Temperature fluctuations would spoil what’s inside, as well as any light, but even with a darkened cabinet.

These things need looking after properly!

The levels on the bottles were pretty good across the board but you are absolutely right - something of that age and pedigree I would not be buying from a supermarket

Shame most their actual stock is stuck in China… Still got my feelers in that team

I’m not worried about stock. I was just running low on scribble sticks!

Good to know I’m running out of pencils for my little notebook holder thingy and can’t face a trip to IKEA!

Our local screwfix donated a bag of 500 for the Sqn.
That was 5 years ago and we are still covered.
