You know what really makes me happy?

The mess dress I got from eBay being a good fit is mmh today, especially as it cost less than replacing my aging dinner suit :grinning:

Going to see some kittens tomorrow and hopefully bring 1 or 2 home to fill the void we’ve had since august

Fingers crossed for you! We got some to fill our void and they are amazing but such time wasters in that you can spend so much time just watching and playing with them!

Many paws in the house again

Something similar happened to me this year. My insurance was half the price it was the year before, with a much reduced excess, despite me having an accident that was my fault and losing some of my no claims bonus. The insurance industry is crazy…!

I have found an ‘average’ ncd chart for the insurer on their website and its extremely odd. F.ex 3 years = 28% but 5 years only = 25% 🤷

I thought the point was the more NCD the more discount

Are you sure that’s not 28% then another 25% of the remaining? So initial is £1000. 3 Years is £720. 5 years is £540.

I can’t get over the range of premiums. When I last renewed for a laugh did one of the comparison sites the unadjusted (ie with additional bits like protected NCD & legal cover) premiums went from £256 to £1310. It would appear some companies don’t want business or there are people with just too much money.

Nope that’s the average discount based on their customers with that many years NCD, 4 years seemed to actually be the sweet spot :person_shrugging:

I wonder if there’s a modal average of 5-6 years between claims…

Or at least (probably rather) claim volumes in line with 2 years.

perhaps a case of once over 4 years NCD the chances are your not in your teens (impossible) or early 20s, you’re deemed “experienced” and there is now little “competition” for the business so there isn’t the same enthusiasm (ie % discount) to offer an exceptional price ?

Follows on then that those in mid to late 20s are poor, having been ripped off for 7 years, and shopping around more.

Last night at Sqn, one of my NCOs said…

'Sir, can you yeet me over that notebook".

Obviously, I had zero idea what they were saying…

Yeet?

Anyway. After a quick education from said NCO I now understand what they meant.

What makes me happy - staying young forever with my cadets.

For anyone else… “yeet” is to throw something.
