I wish RFCA had this kind of success rate…
For RFCAs, I’d settled for “success at any time”
Lies.
We’ve had RFCA success!
There’s been a hole in the roof for ~3 years - despite a refurb - and we’ve just recently had the ok for a whole new roof!
And then they’ve told us that we’re top of the list for a new building.
But a whole replacement roof comes first, obvs.
This is why there’s no money.
Plus the fact we will have signed public procurement contracts requiring us to pay five times the market rate for labour and materials.
That’s just all government departments in general.
Indeed.
See that.
Where squadrons have suddenly had lots of outstanding work requests completed, only for it to be ripped out for a refurb, or a complete rebuild.
One had a dangourous roof, where it was at risk of subsidence, building condemned twice… but had money spent on new internal doors and a repaint…
Its only standard military spending practice
Airfields being resurfaced before closing
Major refits to ships to go out of service
Aircraft upgrades before OOS
Buy 200,000 uniforms and then change the pattern
etc
Their budget methodology is the cause - spend it or lose it and have less next year.
So they end up wasting it and running out before the year ends, having to delay vital and emergency work for months until they get a fresh pot… While simultaneously relegating important work just in case something more important crops up…
Or 50,000 heart start badges just before syllabus changes…
Again, several Tutors airborne this morning from Wittering, Cranwell, St Athan and Leeming.
Hopefully they can get AEF currency back soonish and we might get some hours in…
The “might” is doing a lot of heavy lifting in that sentence.
MMH - Negative PCR. Must just have the bad cold everyone seems to be getting!
This happens everywhere. I’ve spent money on things at the back end of the FY.
However the MoD does have a penchant for reckless spending and like the whole public sector poor project management.
My friend fiance tested positive today and they are due to get married on Sat…25k wedding as well
That’s a big ouch! I’m guessing there’s no insurance that’s covering that!?
Deffo lost venue hire not sure about the rest to be honest
