You know what really grinds my gears? The Gears Strike Back

And there it is on cyberspace forever - we’ll have to revisit this is a couple of years.

Something GMGs yesterday, but I’ve forgotten… which GMGs even more!! (I should have vented whilst it was on my mind)

Sounds like a non child challenge… I accept

Had overheard an interesting conversation at work the other day about God and Santa.

Was very interesting. Made me laugh.

Sounds kinda sus…

Haha … when I do play… I’m always red and my handle is Super Sus

My personal beliefs on the link between jesus and Christmas would probably trigger people on here so I’ll keep my mouth shut

O I remember - TuneIn (the app DAB uses on my Bose speakers(and other DABs i assume) have apparently recently lost a legal battle about streaming Radio feeds from other countries.

That would explain why I haven’t been able to get my local station from Canada.

(Its been going on for a couple of months now and I’ve only just got the answer from Bose)

We should do some ACC games

I would hope you wouldn’t, mostly for the sake of those that wish to create a little bit of magic. Kids can be cruel and once they get to around 7 or 8 seem for some reason to take great pleasure in ruining it for the ones that still believe.

Let me be clear I am not big on Xmas for a number of reasons, it’s more mrs crazy.

I remember when the youngest was 10 and we had decided it was about time to discuss it with him as Mrs crazy was helping in his school at the time and a few kids had been telling her they knew Santa wasn’t real. Gently skirting round the subject and he declares ‘I know Santa’s not real ya know know Dad, I only pretend to keep Mum happy’

We have always made Birthdays the special time in our house and that’s when the real big presents are typically bought (helps spread the financial load too ). At Xmas pyjamas miraculously appeared on bedrooms on Xmas Eve and a small present from Santa was on their bed with the filled stocking when they woke on Xmas morn. The main reason behind that was not everyone is fortunate enough to afford what the must have present is so if they did get it they knew it was from mum and dad.

Good parenting! I taught in a secondary school and had a year 7 tutor group. One morning in October, one of my tutees came in distraught as her parents had just told her the Santa facts. Poor kid, but good on the parents.

I was 7 years of age when I discovered that Santa wasn’t real. I found a stash of children’s presents in my sisters walk-in wardobe (ok, ok, I know I shouldn’t have been snooping around in my big sisters room) when I heard a tiny sound behind me.

It was my brother, on leave from the RN.

WAAAAAAAAACK!

That’s when it dawned on me that Santa was fictitious.

Best version I heard was to let them believe in Father Christmas, but when they start doubting it, to ‘let them in’ on the secret, that big kids and adults are trusted with being Father Christmas because they’re good and kind. Let the child be a secret Santa to someone they know in need of a gift.

Any kids they know who doesn’t believe in Father Christmas simply haven’t been trusted enough to be let in on the ‘secret’.

GMG. Pot Pasta have changed the pasta type they used from pasta twirls to pasta noodle things. But haven’t updated the packaging to reflect this.

Twirls require more water than noodles things. As such I had a very small amount of pasta and a very large amount of sauce.

The ratios are all wrong and it’s upset my world. A lot.

Getting to to work 30mins early doing my checks filling up the vehicle to then be told to change vehicles. Now that really annoys me.

Tier 2 allows me to go to a restaurant, but only with those that I already live with and have spent the last 9 months with.

No change for me :frowning:

The drama now unfolding over who my in-laws bubble with (and associated Christmas nonsense). Wife and her sister in full out warfare. If I didn’t have to deal with grumpy I’d almost post this in what makes me laugh

I think this was the underlying strategy all along. Make it so difficult to agree who goes where that no-one ends up going anywhere. Win win from a pandemic management point of view.

Made me go back and re-read the rules. Damn. I thought before tier two allowed you to go to hospitality venues with up to 5 other people from outside your house. I was wrong. :frowning:

You can, but only if you sit outside.
