I still have to pay more because someone drove into me, and admitted fault. No claim on my part, but still makes my insurance about 30% more expensive compared to if I don’t declare it.
Only claim that’s on there is when some troglodyte drove into my parked car the day we left hospital with the boy.
No fault on my part… But there we go.
It’s the most absurd thing having to pay more because someone crashed into me
Shop around, found out that Hastings actually give a larger, and their biggest % discount for 4 years NCD on average.
Insurance is a dark art
Had been with Hastings for a few years - they kept coming up cheapest and when they didn’t they beat the best by a decent margin and even added NCD protection.
This year they were way out. I’ve hit 10 years of no claims - not even no fault claims…
They’ve given me legal cover for free…
Drops it a fair amount. But yeah, that’s still the cheapest.
Yeah, just had my renewal - gone up by 25%
While I get that we want our companies overseas to represent Britain are their contemporaries being held to the same standard?
Would an American or French competitor have ended up in court for the same behaviour?
There’s certainly similar American legislation - one example here: Goldman Sachs Charged in Foreign Bribery Case and Agrees to Pay Over $2.9 Billion | OPA | Department of Justice
Can’t speak about France.
France has similar…
…but they treat it as an 11th Commandment offence
People who use post nominal on signature blocks (especially email) in contravention of JSP101.
Signature block
29. Always use a signature block to identify the person signing a document:
a. Show the initials and name of the person signing, using upper-case and lowercase letters (for example ‘T Allardyce’). Do not include post-nominal letters.
b. For military staff, show the rank of the person signing. Where appropriate,
such as on correspondence at a multinational HQ, give the Service or nationality.
Write military ranks with initial capitals only. Civil servants do not normally include
their grade.
c. Always include the job title of the person signing, ‘SO1 J3’ unless the
appointment is already included in the detail of headed notepaper. You may add the
job title or department the person represents, (for example ‘For Policy Director’).
Check on the local practice.
You’ll be devastated to hear that Defence Writing has been removed from the staff initial courses at ATF/RAFAC TA/CLS (whatever it is today).
And we then get moaned at for not using correct procedure.
To be fair I think there are much more valuable things to be spending that time on.
And then they wonder why people complain about a lack of communication or not knowing the difference between Admin Orders, Op Orders & Joining Instructions.
If people want to use them, I don’t see how it hurts me to recieve an email with them on.
Completely agree.
Yes.
Boils my urine too
The only time I even clock it really is when opposing counsel use LLB(Hons) at the end of their skeleton arguments. That’s usually a sign that their client would be better off representing themselves
