Ta - several of those have already been mentioned.
Likewise, “small claim procedure” was thrown into conversations.
Their current procedure suggests “resolution manager action” in 10 working days, so that is already listed as nuclear response date…
An earlier account review would have nipped things in the bud. Smart meter was checked = working accurately. Lack of complaint resolution & dire communication have been the 2 key customer service issues.
I’m at a similar point with the housing ombudsman getting back to me about the dire lack of communication from the local council about repairs.
I’ve had several “whatever” approaches by companies where fault has clearly been theirs, but they thought that the ostrich head in the sand attitude + “ignore him, he’ll go away” would win the day. After due warning, I would invoice them for £100 for each “negative” contact / lack of response that required correspondence from me. Pah, they said…
Wallop. Small Claims Court procedure filed.
As the date got closer, the attitude changed markedly - whilst clearly not major litigation, each case that they lose all adds up - risk of setting a sort of precedence. Capitulation every time - although one was only a couple of days before the court date. Yes, I always insisted that my invoices were paid - & they were.
Our then new house - significant faults - customer service was worse than dire. I threatened to go & sit outside their sales office with handouts (sent them a draft - very factual) to give to prospective purchasers, to outline the list of faults & their inability / lack of desire to fix. It worked…
GMG. Social workers.
That is all.
Oh no, my partner is a social worker… They aren’t always the most popular people.
You have my sympathies! I’m sure your partner is fine!
My issue today is I’ve 3 referrals sat on my desk this morning. 2 are inappropriate - BUT they’ve already told the client I will call them today and start work with them this week. The other one i’ve only been given 50% of the story and they haven’t handed over the risk assessment so cannot home visit as they’ve promised I will.
The social worker responsible for this has this morning gone home sick and her manager didn’t seem to bothered about the unnecessary work that’s been generated.
At east they didn’t wait until 16:55 on a Saturday to decide that things were high risks and then pass it over to you as they don’t work out of hours. That’s standard around our way.
I hear the moans and groans from the other side of the desk - but I do hear lots of complaining about colleagues now knowing backsides from elbows too! They are the first to agree that dealing with social services can be pretty painful.
My gripe isn’t really with our locality teams. They’ve been amazing recently. But it’s the front door service which is constantly causing me additional work.
Had a fraudulent cheque for £1900 put through our account for payment…
This was picked up by the bank security system - we got a copy of the cheque, not a bad imitation for the format, with correct sort code / account number. However, several errors led to the transaction not going through - not going to outline them here, but the signature was very wrong!
Interestingly, although this appeared on our statement as an “out / cancelled payment,” as it was stopped by the bank, they do not have a protocol to inform a customer of the issue. I’d like to know please, to watch out for anything dodgy in the near future! Equally, they couldn’t tell me as to the “paying in” circumstances of the dud cheque; even if using your 'phone to scan / pay in a cheque, it has to be linked to an appropriate bank / sort code /account, etc.
Report in progress from the bank.
I’ve just navigated direct to SharePoint, homepage comes right up in desktop view, as soon as I click on “ask the team” it takes me to a mobile view url with associated error.
Scratch that - ANYTHING I navigate to it takes me to the mobile view. Mobile view is useless ON MOBILES, let alone PC. Sharepoint is basically dead to me right now and I can’t find the setting and don’t know the url pathing well enough to force the desktop view.
(ok, maybe not quite everything, but if I go Key Documents, it takes me to mobile view, click the key documents folder again and it reverts to the usual layout. Other stuff I don’t really need is a bit janky as well, but VoV is definitely broken for me the same as it is on a phone)
I fixed it, but now can’t duplicate the problem, all I know is that I found an option in desktop mode bottom right to change it.
I also can’t find that button on my phone either…
I had nothing anywhere on screen with settings to switch - but I think I know what you’re talking about as I did once see a 3-dot menu on my phone that I managed to use, but I recall it not always being there for whatever reason when I’ve tried to use the same trick again.
Tried a different chrome-based browser and it worked fine, copied the proper VoV link across and it redirected still.
Cleared cache and now it works. Pretty confused about why a direct, correct url would redirect to mobile view (especially considering the incompatibility) like that due to something in cache. I was in proper SharePoint on my PC last night.
While we’re on the topic, why the heck isn’t VoV compatible with mobile anyway?
Beats me!
As a pedantic technical person…
the underlying open-source framework is chromium - chrome is only the name of the browser that Google produce based on the framework
Because SharePoint is
I can access it via the SharePoint App.
It’s old SP which is the issue.
Interestingly I can f barely access anything on the app
Keeping it simple for the lay person . Saying Chromium means as much to many as AMD Ryzen 7 3700x. That and this one is legit 100% Chrome with the Google removed - no UI changes at all. It’s a bit more complex than this, but it’s basically light theme incognito.
