You know what really grinds my gears? The Gears Strike Back

Yes, those are the ones. Sorry forgot to reply directly.

To go back on topic, also GMG offering to make my boyfriend lunch before remembering he had leftover tuna mayo that needed using up

That’s what you get for undoing decades of feminism and making your man lunch.

Hydrolysis. Saw it a lot when I worked in a shoe shop.

Something that happens. You would be surprised how many people after 2/3 years of having shoes will bring them back to complain and want a refund.

Mine when issued, didn’t make it to 10mins. I already had pairs of far superior boots that I wore.

CAB’s were weird. Properly, and FULLY broken in, they were great. I did two Nijmegens, plus training in my issued ones, no issues whatsoever.
But in any other circumstances, they shredded feet.

I had a similar accident many years ago. Another vehicle ran into the back of my car so i called the Police to the scene. Should have seen the other parties face when the Police rolled up got out and said ā€œhow you doingā€ .I unzipped my jacket and revealed the same uniform. The other drivers face was a picture. I was driving a Volvo at the time which aside from a small crack in the rear bumper was fine. He was driving a recycled Baked bean tin aka Hyundai Accent whose bonnet had crumpled up and front end was well knackered.

Our boiler may have a mind of it’s own. By chance realised the radiators were on today. The thermostat said the heating was off (visually and the button was pressed to off). We’ve turned the radiators bit down on the radiator and are waiting for our landlord to get back to us! No idea how long it has been on for.

Also, the last week, nearly every day we have had a wasp or bee in the house and we have no idea where it is coming from. Today it was a massive bumble bee (biggest I’ve ever seen). It was actually trying to get it out that I realised that the radiators were on!)

Sounds like the CH valve in the boiler could have gone. I came back from a cadet weekend once to a toasty 24C.

Not sure, we’ve managed to turn it off but waiting for the landlord still. Hopefully it will be a simple enough fix. I’m more annoyed that we have no idea how long it’s been on for and we’ve had windows open as its been a nice day!

Questions on job application forms.

Both questions have a 10,000 word limit!!

Pretty sure I’m not allowed to give out internal stats on productivity, especially as I don’t get to see them myself. Also, applying for a legal role and you want me to breach client confidentiality in the application form? Did I mention this was for a job as a disciplinary lawyer with a professional regulator (not for lawyers)?

Well, after spending ages entering my work and education history into your ridiculous form I don’t think I’ll be going any further thank you.

That’s a crazy thing to ask

In the nicest possible way, he’s been interred now and we all have lives to lead. It’s time for HQAC/MOD to allow us to crack on.

Taking on a major utility company - E-on - on behalf of a family member.

Issues with billing (higher than expected) - review not actioned (Nov 2020) until 12 months after the account being live, despite significant difference in direct debit payments versus actual billing. That might be normal protocol, but follow-up has been dire. Family member has day job that prevents them from making / receiving personal 'phone calls.

E-on have been informed, numerous times, that email must be initial point of contact. Nope, they crack on with trying to 'phone, several times. Then, they emailed (at last - hurrah) saying that if no reply, the complaint would be closed. Email sent by return…

Yep, they closed the case. :rage:

Called them a month ago - politely explained the situation - please re-open case, not happy at all with the poor customer service, lack of resolution, blah, blah. Suggested E-on consider a voluntary settlement to reduce the bill. Certainly sir, very sorry, all will be passed on to the complaints team…

Called them today, zero action taken after previous call, no complaint, no re-opening of case work. :face_with_symbols_over_mouth:

Already over the 56 days to permit contact with the Ombudsman. CEO of E-on is going to get a ā€œsort itā€ email I think.
