So OC can access SMS, but I was struggling, even after password changes, which have probably been flagged now for over attempting to log in.
I find having both logins a nightmare!
It doesn’t tell you which password is incorrect.

Not just me then. Heat related no doubt
just out of a work meeting following a request i put in to our “helpdesk team” two weeks ago they got confused by and basically said “thats not our responsibility”
at the start of the year there was a big push for all facility style jobs go through the helpdesk, and a HD job number assigned to it.
doesn’t matter if it is a change of lightbulb, a request for a new desk chair, request for an electrician to come check out a piece of kit which keeps tripping, or the big request - no more verbal “Hiya mate, can you get this sorted?” requests.
I need some labels for some hoses printed, these have been done in house to date, and have simply the machine name and hose number on it so it can be readily identified so when their service life is up, we can record which hoses have been replaced
previously this was a “hiya mate can you just” request
just out of a meeting, which took 40 minutes (or 3 “man-hours” in terms of resource), a meeting duration which is twice the time to actually produce the labels, which has resulted in 9 actions being raised, the existing policy to be reviewed and rewritten accordingly all so the end result to have a contractor to produce labels which no doubt will come at a significant charge (these are simply tags/labels which are cabled tied on…nothing fancy or exciting) all because a system that isn’t broken, and doesn’t need fixing, required HD to process the request formally and then got upset that they, Helpdesk, were being asked to “help”.
I am not sure if the managers desire to see an increase in the number of HD jobs being issued (and thus an excuse to justify their job/team as X jobs are being done a year) was also meant to see an increase in costs to contractors simply because it sounds too difficult when asked for formally (despite being done this way informally for years)…sigh
It’s the latter - they just forgot which is not surprising as there is no CCF representation on DPSG.
Perhaps they should expand it slightly to include a representative from the air cadet cadet training team.
We don’t need that level of controversy.
Then I’d need to watch what I say!
I’ll just enjoy pointing from the sidelines
I miss VRT Memes.
Sadly for you all, it genuinely wasn’t me. I wouldn’t let a good thing like that die!
Well hello global recession
GMG - Gmail never deciding if my email should be @gmail.com or @googlemail.com. And companies not knowing that both work. Both are the same.
“Hi Joe, we can’t find an account registered with this email address, can you instead provide the following details?”
Because they see my email as JoeBloggs@googlemail.com, but I registered with JoeBloggs@gmail.com
It also works with or without dots (you can randomly put them in the middle of names if you want).
You can also add a + and anything after!
JoeBloggs+ACC@gmail.com would still go to JoeBloggs@gmail.com. It it would show it was sent with the +ACC. Very useful for signing up to places, as if your email gets leaker, you can see from where!
That must be handy for rules.
Apart from the shade of Government, has much changed in the c13 years since this? (and I appreciate that the mods don’t want a politics thread but this was literally the first post!)
It got a lot worse for a while, then recently, slightly better.
