Well, against Ukraine he’s only managed to kill a million of his own people.
Which is why if it got really nasty ….he only has one option! ….gulp!!
I’m keeping an eye on this. Whilst protests are not uncommon, this is beginning to look potentially significant:
Especially as Trump already offered to get involved!
And given recent events (which I actually get to write about academically this weekend) there’s no reason to not believe him.
The issue with that he knows the state of his military and therefore must have serious questions about how many of his birds would actually fly.
Yup, remember talking to the crew of a Striker (Swingfire AT launcher - armoured recce) in BOAR. They had 4 ready rounds and 4 reloads.
I suggested that didn’t seem many, the reply was that they didn’t expect to survive long enough to need a replen.
sorry 5 ready rounds and 5 reloads, memory isn’t what it was.
Also my brother broke my Dinky Toys Striker by shoving plasticine in the launcher ![]()
I’m not sure why this is still the case, but I still always find myself surprised at how much isn’t reported.
As an example, it was announced yesterday that Pakistan are finalising a $1.5bn deal to supply the Sudanese with fighter jets and other weapons, to confront the rebellion by the Rapid Support Forces in and around Darfur. The Sudanese military have also targeted parts of Libya.
There’s still ongoing clashes between Kurdish fighters and the new Syrian regime for control of territory near Lake Assad.
Yemen isn’t really being reported at all, despite a unilateral declaration of independence by one of the factions in the area of what was South Yemen/Aden.
Yet we hear a tonne about what’s going on in the US when it’s nothing more than their standard day-to-day at this point.
And the UK pays Pakistan £1.3M in aid. Why, like India, does the UK pay another country aid money when they have a space and/or military industry that sells to other countries ![]()
I did see an article this morning about Israel’s visit to Somaliland if that’s any consolation.
Firstly, it’s humanitarian aid rather than development aid. Given the size of the aid budget, £1.3m is pennies.
Secondly, are you suggesting that countries shouldn’t be selling off their ageing inventory as it approaches end of service life?
Thirdly, we haven’t really provided aid to India for several years. There’s some investments, but that’s completely different to aid.
I would say their is a suggestion that if you can afford to modernise your military you can afford your own humanitarian aid for your population.
Let also be honest and accept it was the outcry that they were getting aid while running a space programme that changed this.
The simple answer is soft power, if gives us a modicum of input into their foreign and domestic policy, want to put Tarrifs in UK goods, we can turn off the aid taps, want to refuse to take back illegal immigrants, we turn off the aid taps.
People are still using X?
Rarely, every time I take a scroll it’s just right wing lunatics spouting false news and conspiracy theories.
Depressing place for idiots really.
There was a surge in people purchasing subscriptions for Grok today, which tells you how big the issue we have with paedophiles is.
Well if he goes to war with Iran it will distract him from Greenland
Been watching a large amount of westbound American flights over the past couple of days, and now we have official confirmation.
I’m expecting something tonight or tomorrow personally.
