World War Three?

I thought that was war over? Trump said so.

If trump stops the same war twice, has he ended one war or two?

He’s so good at stopping wars. He’s stopped the same war 4 times!

Like I’m great at quitting smoking, I’ve done it 5 times!

Three, obviously!

You mean one FIFA Peace Prize or two?

It’s rare to find an article that’s so directly relevant for this topic of debate.

In Star Trek the WW3 started in 2026 #justsaying

Perhaps, but they also stated that “Irish unification” took place in 2024…

When was the war that Khan and his crew were genetically engineered for? I have the 1990s in the back of my mind.

They moved it.

A surprisingly sensationalist ending for the BBC. Not sure if they’re more anti-trump since the lawsuit but this definitely seems to be written persuasively.

[WW3 is] likely to be a collection of diplomatic and military manoeuvres, which will see autocracy flourish. It could even threaten to break up the Western alliance.

And the process has already started.

You say sensationalist, but my formal studies and readings were already pointing to the same conclusion quite some time ago.

Sometimes we have to be willing to say what others daren’t; the way the geopolitical & economic scenes are currently playing are more likely to lead to large scale conflict than avoid it.

It’s 1996 in the series but the loop hole is that as Khan was an Indian “prince” they were using the Indian National Calendar which is 78 years less than the Gregorian.

so it should have been 2074 rather than 1996 for the Eugenics Wars which makes sense as it’s 9 years after first contact, khan was the last of the great earth warlords & then conceivable for launching into Space.

This is why stardates makes sense as it’s a conversion standardisation of all the different calendars.

There now inter-nation conflict in:

Europe /Asia with Ukraine & Russian Aggression

Oceania / Asia with the Thailand/cambodia border war plus China with Taiwan

The americas with Venezuela & the US.

Even if these are limited it does give the world gyroscope a wobbling flick

The Latin American reaction to today will be interesting to watch.

Maduro is/was not popular with the political classes of almost all other South American states, but still very popular amongst left-leaning populations for being defiant against American imperialism.

A couple of nearby countries have very delicate political balances already. We’ll likely see protests in some neighbouring countries that could lead to civil unrest between supporters of Maduro and Venezuelan refugees living in those countries.

The Venezuelan refugees I met in Peru were genuinely some of the nicest and kindest people I’ve met anywhere, but there is a discourse amongst the native population about how they’ve brought gang-related violence, extortions, robberies etc to previously peaceful cities. It’s going to be interesting to watch how the dynamics evolve.

So the Latin American reaction so far is pretty muted.

Nicaraguan press, a Venezuela/Maduro ally, has even called the event the capture of a dictator. Peruvian press are talking about celebrating Maduro’s fall.

The only country I can see so far that’s come out with anti-American sentiment is Cuba, but that’s as certain as the sun rising.

It’s possible that this might all blow over as if nothing’s happened. It’s debatable how much of this is because the political class are glad to see the back of Maduro, and how much is a fear of Trump.

Didn’t the Venezuelan opposition leader win the Nobel Peace Prize that Trump so wanted? Her ending up in charge feels like an outcome everyone could get behind.

I’m certainly not fully on board with the current guy who Trump has abducted.

But I do find it bizarre that the US has indicted a foreign leader and decided to go bomb the hell out of them, and abduct them, to try them in a US court. As if they have jurisdiction.

Plus all this goes against Trumps constant chat of being anti-war, a peace president etc etc. And saying he won’t get involved in foreign problems.

It’s like his threats to bomb Iran if they kill protestors. I can almost get on board with Trump defending peaceful protestors. But it goes against what he’s always banging on about, because at the end of the day, he just wants to bomb Iran and doesn’t really care about the protests.

What this is all somehow doing is making Trump Jr richer and richer. He’s got multiple companies securing ridiculous federal funding for various things. Just look at 1789 Capital and Vulcan Elements.
