What are you watching?

It’s so refreshing being able to refer to ‘that bit’ as a surprise :joy:

24 hours in police custody tonight was tough viewing

Didn’t even realise there was a new series. Is it another 2-parter?

Just got in from work and realised I recorded Where Eagles Dare the other day.

Probably one of the best films of its type ever made and so quotable!

Just finished Don’t Look Up. It was okay. Some proper funny elements too it, but not the best film I’ve seen! Worth a watch though.

I liked how it (sub)consciously linked to how the Covid Pandemic was dealt with :joy:

I mean, was that not the whole point of the film? :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

That was my understanding anyway, less subconscious, more front and centre

2nd half of 24hrs in police custody tonight and it was harder than the first.

I hope the residents of what ever prison hes been sent to gave him a warm welcome or atleast had access to the program to understand what their associate is really like.

Watched that on NYE. Really couldn’t see what all the hype was about. A 6/10 at best for me.

Watched both parts tonight. Truly heartbreaking, but glad to see both of them got the right result in the end and very much glad the other kids are out of that environment. I did raise an eyebrow at the way they reported her sentence at the end though, and can imagine an army of gammons around the country screaming “is that all?!” at their TVs in unison

I am a huge fan of 24 Hours in Police Custody, even more so since they switched from the original “24 hours” format to focusing on lengthier, more detailed investigations, but I don’t think I’ve yet watched an episode that hasn’t made me cringe at least once.

The thing that always used to rile me was the countdown. Almost religiously, they’d show the arrest, interaction with the custody officer, and then the CCTV of the suspect being put into the cell … at which point they’d overlay the countdown for the first time, starting at 24 hours then counting down for a few seconds. I get it’s a gimmick, but it always frustrated me that they couldn’t get the basics of when the custody clock starts ticking right. Like, it’s literally the name of the programme  But anyway, they’ve stopped doing that with the format change, which means the vlog script I wrote ranting about went unrecorded (like so many others )

Did you tell them you were a WO and wanted the fluffy pillows?

Climate change was the main point, but also works for covid.

When you watch it knowing it’s an allegory, it’s good. Hard to ignore the point.

Not that makes a while lot more sense! :man_facepalming: :man_facepalming:

I think they did a really good job in demonstrating she was a victim also.

Same.

Really great trailer.

Terrible film.

And then blaming the Police probably

Would be embarrassing to show that the clock was already down to 18 hours due to the Custody having a queue out the door.

I’ve got into the habit of having the US office on in the background whilst working from home…forgot how good it was

Call the Midwife and Death in Paradise back again, thankfully this has moved to Friday so I can watch it live so to speak and not fanny around with I-player.
