Please don’t tell me that the base isn’t actually on another planet
Wasn’t that an Empire Base?
I don’t think I knew there was going to be a reboot. This has made my day!
I loved The Bill growing up. I’m tempted to re watch it but I’m worried it may spoil my memories now I’m a bit older.
Tony Stamp, June Ackland and Jim Carver all in supporting roles apparently.
Yes, I’ve just looked it up, they are in “consultant” roles. Bit odd as obviously they’ll have been changes as they’ve been out for so long. Financially, you’d hope that was a PSE role though rather than paying top money for a consultancy
But I need to remove my work brain from this.
Not watching without Reg Hollis.
Although a Ted Hastings cameo might persuade me…
I liked Reg and Smithy. I don’t have a good memory for TV shows but a clear memory is Smithy doing a really hammed up rugby tackle of a suspect.
So Vigil who done it sweepstake?
Lalalala I’ve only watched up to episode 2 logging back out now!
Ep 3 watched. That wasn’t a surprise.
I don’t understand “reboots” of TV series. If you watched the original it’s difficult not to compare. With The Bill for me Reg Hollis made it, no Reg not worth watching.
Even with a change of people they lose something. When Frankie Boyle and Andy Parsons left MTW it wasn’t the same, especially Boyle, those that came after are lightweights. QofS is now IMO unwatchable with McGuiness. I’m sure some people think he’s funny, but not me. He’s a tool and doesn’t understand that he’s there just to ask questions.
There are some especially old sitcoms that in today’s prissy woke mindset wouldn’t work. I would love to see how a modern day working of The Young Ones or even Blackadder, would go down.
One of my favourite things is “may contain language/attitudes some may find offensive” like some of the modern dramas set up to say the 1990s or something like QI where they say “mat contain adult humour”, no kidding, it’s why we watch it.
Maybe it’s because it’s because LoD went on for several series, but this doesn’t have the same pull each episode - I’m not getting the same “ooooh” factor as it develops.
Just started vigil.
Must admit… bit disappointed if honest.
As in partway through ep 1 or…
It’s not bad… There’s an oil rig version enroute aswell
First 10 min and I thought… whaaaaaaaat.
Still watching.
I’ve not bothered with Vigil because of Suranne Jones, I’ve tried watching a few things with her in and never got on.
Definitely felt a bit cheated at that, considering how much it was played up that he’s in it.
Hopefully we do get more scenes.
Has the spoiler code stopped working or was I doing it wrong?
