Wedgwood shirts - no tie?

So I saw a comment/post on ‘you know you’ve been an…’ the other day saying that apparently Wedgwood shirts can now be worn without a tie - by cadets. I checked the AP1358, page 34 - http://www.1860sqn.co.uk/WP/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/AP1358C.pdf

Any thoughts?

Unless they’ve snuck out a new AP1358C this week, it is in fact the complete opposite.

For a while until the most recent update light blue long sleeve shirts could be worn without a tie under a jersey by all personnel, cadets and staff; and short sleeve without a tie by staff.

That was rescinded and now, only short sleeve shirts without jersey can be worn without a tie, and only by staff.
No one may wear a light blue shirt under a jersey without a tie.

Not any more - cadets or staff. See latest version, 1.05

That’s an out-of-date AP1358C you’re linking to.

What the… (texts squadron webmaster very, very quickly.)

Excellent! So a rule got changed and then changed back again before we’d even noticed it had changed? Thank goodness for that…

(not wearing a tie this whole time…)

Actually, latest version is 1.06. 1.05 only lasted a couple of weeks.
(expect 1.07 out by March 15)

What the… (texts squadron webmaster very, very quickly.)
You shouldn’t need to host AP1358C - the copy on Ultilearn is visible without needing to be logged in, so just link to that.

So you don’t need to login to look at things on ultilearn. Since when?

Thank you, I’ll let the Trg Off know. (I wasn’t aware we were hosting it, or why it was such an old version…)

So Tie or no Tie with jumpers? I’m still confused!

Long-sleeved Wedgwood blue shirt is always worn with a tie whether or not a jersey is also worn.
Short-sleeved Wedgwood blue shirt is never worn with a tie and is never worn with a jersey.

But if there are subversive cadets or members of staff who wear a short-sleeved shirt + tie+ jumper, how would you know??

[sub](Without taking the jumper off!)[/sub]

So you don’t need to login to look at things on ultilearn. Since when?
I don’t think it works with all documents hosted on there, but certainly does with AP1358C.

With most other links it just generates a runtime error if you try and open them without first being logged in.

Indeed, feel free to try it! https://learning.bader.mod.uk/Global/AP1358C%20Uniform%20Dress%20and%20Appearance%20Regulations/AP1358C%20PDF.pdf

Unless you’re my squadron commander who is intimately convinced that there is a female exception to that rule…

Nope, the rules are the same for male and female. I trust you'll be challenging her to back up her conviction...

I’m intrigued, how do you become “intimately” convinced about something?

When they issue a LS shirt that I can get over my shoulders, without the sleeves somewhere up my forearm, I won’t be wearing a LS any time soon.
I have two extra long sleeve shirts (one a dress-shirt) and a double-cuff that I wear with a suit if I feel the situation requires it, other than that I either have sleeves rolled up or short-sleeves for work. I’ve got the ‘dress’ LS shirts from proper tailors/menswear shops as the High Street is not up to it.

You are preaching to the Choir. We’re also not allowed to wear MTP as she doesn’t like us wearing it.
