I think we are over the worst here. Peak temps lower than yesterday, breeze picking up, rain later!
I’ve got that to look forward to tomorrow! It’s been 10 days of 30C+ days in a row now for me, this will be the hottest yet I think.
That’s been my week 
Rather hot here at Bisley - but will only be 30°C for our shoots tomorrow! 
Bottles of water are already in the freezer & the “Phizz” tablets are at the ready for the Yeti container.

Just emailed the powers that be at chambers to request we extend the Air Con provision.
First, we have three areas where the employed staff work, two of those areas have frankly stupid good air con. (We keep stopping in to their rooms to, pass the time.) But I learnt today that 5 members of staff don’t have any, and are suffering.
Meanwhile, there’s no air con for the barristers at all, which was never a huge issue as we largely tend to work in chambers before or after hearings, but, it’s getting too much, so I’ve suggested we get air con in the largest shared working space to create a sort of cold refuge.
I’m jealous!
Big ol’ storm blowing through. Woken up as everyone’s windows and doors are smashing closed and banging constantly.
Got a colleague who’s just driven back from the airport and said there’s a bunch of trees down too!
So heatwave part duex is upon us. We had 32c in Essex yesterday, which is due to last all week and into the weekend.
Out here I’ve just accepted 30+ as the daily norm 
Before moving I looked at the climate and it appeared very similar to southern England over the summer. That, was wrong.
The front door windows in my house are just portals for heat, but not today:
This is a parenting hack I learnt from IG, if you spray water on the glass, the foil will suction on. Its useful to make cheap blackout blinds for kids. But it also keeps the heat out.

One of the best hacks I’ve ever seen.
Wish I’d known about it when we went to Vienna a couple of years back. Huge flat, windows for days, not a single blind worth speaking of, we were stuffing bin bags and towels into the windows to try to keep the light out.
And it definitely doesn’t make it look like a grow house. No sir, not at all!

Will this create heat spots on the glass, making it crack?
So the heat doesn’t dissipate?
It should reflect it?

Ok.its just ive seen pictures of windows cracking when blackout blinds are used.
I have seen people doing the foil hack, but they put it on the outside of the glass for that reason.
Whether it’s needed or not, I couldn’t say.

This would work much better, until there’s any wind and they go flying! 
The UK needs to start installing these in houses:
This plus double glazing works a treat! When I wake up I close all the doors, windows and shutters. When I go to bed, I open it all up. Bit of a faff, but means the flat can stay at 31C when it’s 37C outside. 31C is still horrible though.

I vaguely remember similar from holidays way back, depending on how tight you pull the chord they can be completely closed up or have the small squares open to let in light. Genius.
