Or sword. I’ve done this on many a parade practise at my unit.
I did overhear a few comments from kids to their parents asking why that guy has a brolly whist I was at Cosford Airshow walking through the stalls and since I was the only one at the time they must have been directed at me. I managed to stand and watch all the air displays with zero sunburn especially for me that is a massive achievement as usually I just have to see the sun and go lobster red! Apart from the Squadrons who had their own gazebos - top marks there! The 2nd best option is definitely a golfing umbrella!
I was watching a video yesterday about the advantages of umbrellas in AT environments over wet weather gear. You keep dry, as long as it’s not too windy, and don’t have a sweat jacket on
Very sensible planning.
Forage cap!!!
No chin strap on the forage cap. Ever worn your chin strap? WOs start twitching.
Yes, but, don’t forget that the sides of the forage cap can be brought down in inclement weather…
I think we’ve all agreed on this thread and others that a heatwave qualifies as inclement weather.
Unstitch it and you can cover the ears
I have done it in the past, but its not worth the ridiculousness.
Remember, the key is compliance with rules to annoy, achieving that by losing all sense or panache, or derring do is not very officer.
Have you told the regular officers that…?
