I think he means the Wavy Navy.
I did indeed. My bad!
I have put a post on the CFC page of Bader advising the RCN that the slides are too wide.
He is willing to look at the issue if most are in agreement.
Iâve tried to upload the picture on here of the rank slides but for some reason it wonât let me.
Anyone else care to try?
Not had many dealings with RCN but seems a pragmatic chap who is willing to listen
How about he looks at an actual pair himself, or is he pandering to the desire of the masses in an attempt to divert attention from other issues? I wonder, he does seem like a thoroughly good egg, and he gets a bit of unfair stick at times. This isnât any of his doing when you look at it, but he has been trying to push for improvements. Everyone has a boss though, including him
Funny how most of us have to be in agreement about how wide tank slides are before he looks at issue but when most of us were in agreement on what we should be called etc they chose to disregard it
I tried to upload all three it just threw up an error
Sorry Iâm.on mobile and canât work out how to post a message without replying to one. Given that we are moving towards RAFAC why do we now need to have RAF Fulltime RS as our RC and at ATF surely this just looks like jobs for the boys having staff never involved in cadets to advise us how to run and treat cadets etc. Secondly now that VRT officers will not be subject to the AFA what will be used as a stick to beat them with ie officer has s ND no longer subject to mil law. I know I came under the Army Act 1955 and the Army could take action against me up to six months after leaving what will happen to any officer currently still pending AFA action ?
While all the hubub about the width of rank slides is terribly interesting and no doubt a critical issue that staff college students in future generations will examine in great depth, might it perhaps be a good idea to ask RCN - while everyone is being so accessable - what will happen on the first weekend of November when Flt Lt Bloggs turns up to the Armoury at RAF Anywhere to pick up riffles and ammunition only to be told by the armourer that âyou canât take this stuff sport, youâre a civvyâŚâ?
You know, just to pretend that some people can focus on important issuesâŚ
This wonât happen. The requirements are for those responsible to be SC Cleared, and if moving ammunition be current DGA.
As a CI I regularly move Arms & Ammunition from the parent station to ranges.
The rules for such moves are detailed here (SharePoint Access Required) from SO2 PhysSy at the MoD
If the old is scrapped and the new is brand new, I donât see how they can simply transfer people. There must be an admin process to show that folk have consented to be appointed to the CFC, what with the responsibilities that entails?
Surely they donât think they can âforceâ these new commissions on people do theyâŚ
Nah, I donât mind aimlessly speculating on here, but am happy to wait for official announcements/letter/forms etc
Given that we are moving towards RAFAC why do we now need to have RAF Fulltime RS as our RC and at ATF
This is a far more important question, than worrying about the half a dozen people who might be doing shooting that weekend, which covered as said by the requirement to have an SC or rank slides. If they donât get anything out Iâll still wear my uniform as is for Remembrance Parades, given that only about 3 people in the UK will know or get bothered by it.
It might not be much in the grand scheme, but there is money to be saved by ditching the FTRS posts in the ATC. Theyâve been inventing them over the past few years with no benefit to us on the âshop floorâ. As one of my old managers used to say, if it doesnât add value donât do or have it. They have zero influence when it comes to flying, gliding and shooting to name three things, so what purpose do they really serve, other than themselves? Before anyone mentions RC(N), seems OK but hasnât delivered anything yet. If I recall the old RC(N) did lots and delivery was sketchy.
As I have said in the past. Nobody had said how this change will benefit the cadets or the sqn staff.
What about the wing who have been told to direct any question through their wing hq POC and not the ask RCN page?
We are allowed to wear our issue blue rank slides no No3 uniform.
Shexy
If theyâre FTRS they work for the RAF not ATC? Posts like AEF commanders are FTRS so add great value?
You shouldnât make such sweeping statementsâŚ
FTRS adding value is a sweeping statement.
The UAS/AEF work for the RAF and not the ATC, the ATC tag onto the UAS system for air cadet flying so are outside the statement. The people he means are the RCs, ARCs, WExOs TGs and many others who have had a long and distinguished career in the RAF and who are now topping up their pensions âworkingâ for the good of the ATC. While many do a great job in support of the ATC some donât. The point is that most do not have the foggiest idea what a Sqn Cdr or Trg off on any other member staff on 123 (anywhere) sqn does. They have never had any experience volunteering for the ATC.
Most of the FTRS jobs are not open to the general public so ATC with experience are not allow to apply for these jobs.
