It’s a regular comment … and now a phrase she coins herself

When you look at the adverts they are stilted very much to the RAF quoting rank and or experience, but could be anyone from the military, but from the likes of us no chance. The closest any of us might get is if you get asked to work at HQAC (normally after you’ve ingratiated yourself) and then fall into a sort of twilight zone. A way that a couple who I have known gone to HQAC have looked at is, you lose all touch with the Corps that matters and get cocooned in a very narrow view of the Corps as you only get involved in ‘big ticket’ events.

Of those who have come into the ATC I don’t really see how they have benefited anyone, other than themselves in terms of bank account and pension. If I was in their position I would be thinking I’d landed on my feet and putting as much as I could into pensions and other investments each month, as I can’t see they need the salary to live on after retiring or getting made redundant after many year service.

The major problem has always been no unaccountable to anyone that matters in the organisation.

Just heard that the RAF issue slides won’t be in until 2019…2019 ( this is not a typo…!!!

Fubar.
How can it take that long? If this is so urgent for the to do then they should be finding the money to speed things up

Well its nearly 15:30 on Friday the 29 Sep. The launch of the CFC will be this Sunday. Do you think HQAC will be fully staffed so that they can make a press release announcing the launch of the first new commission in over 160 years… Or not?

Looks like in will be wearing VRT insignia for another 2 years then! B@ggered if I am buying the new badges.

Hey, welcome to the world. There’s good and bad in every walk of life. There are many that introduce individuals at SLT level without them having worked at the coal face. That’s just the way it is. Sometimes you get a good one, sometimes not…

On the positive side, I’m really looking forward to wearing the same uniform as our ATC SNCOs. Perhaps it’s time to move on?

It won’t be the same as in No.3 you’ll have an RAF TRF whilst they have an SNCO ACO TRF…

Yawn.

Not for long. Will be a new one coming out mandated for all staff on a set date…

…just wont be available for a long time afterwards and at significant personal cost

Add it to the list of required clothing/kit to carry out RAFAC core activities that we are expected to self source

Read the earlier posts regarding contract supply issues. That explains why. Not a good situation but understandable why the RAF don’t want to do anything.

We at least should move onto one TRF either the old VRT one or the SNCO one come Nov we all be RAFAC but will have two TRF

angus:
what will happen on the first weekend of November when Flt Lt Bloggs turns up to the Armoury at RAF Anywhere to pick up riffles and ammunition only to be told by the armourer that ‘you can’t take this stuff sport, you’re a civvy…’?

themajor:
This won’t happen. The requirements are for those responsible to be SC Cleared, and if moving ammunition be current DGA.
As a CI I regularly move Arms & Ammunition from the parent station to ranges.
The rules for such moves are detailed here2 (SharePoint Access Required) from SO2 PhysSy at the MoD

This is of course, assuming that the changeover has been effectively communicated to RAF personnel and that ‘civilians in uniform - formerly RAFVR(T) personnel’ are still authorised to uplift A&A from RAF Stations without additional hassle.

What’s the betting that despite HQAC assurances that CFC holders remain authorised, that some stations aren’t adequately briefed and that misunderstandings occur. Misunderstandings, that will delay or otherwise impede the drawing of said items which may put our range practices into complete disarray. Remember that most of our range events take place at weekends and even when I was in the RAF, most personnel didn’t work weekends and if authorisation is required or queries need to be addressed, trying to get hold of the decision-makers can be hard work.

Given HQAC’s valiant attempts on FB and Twatter at letting everyone know (bar those who really need to know) what’s going on and when, it certainly doesn’t inspire confidence that the correct information has reached the people that really need to be aware, in a timely manner.

Or is it just me being cynical?

Doubt if armouries will even notice, especially as whoever turns up will be holding a MOD90 saying Cadet Forces; that’s unless we are all going to get new ID cards, removing our MOD90s!!

Do not share answers from the Bader page on here please.

Was it from Bader? Thought it was from an ACF source?

In any case, CFC officers will be no different in status than ATC staff are now - and they are currently entitled to carry a Mod 90. I’ve even heard whispers that Mod 90 issue will be extended to include CIs in the future…

The Policy Doc states CFAV - Officers are remaining as CVAFs it is their commission that is changing. As a CIVILIAN appointed as a CI I have no issues moving A&A so nor will Officer’s under CFC as they will have better credentials than I… Not saying this won’t impact on holding inventories though…
