VR(T) Commission Change

They probably haven’t thought about it. It will probably be RAFAC Gilt pin on white tab

Also I thought they were going to change the TRFs also.

In the absence of anything else that may be the best bet.
Wonder if I’ll get both commissioning scrolls after Cranwell?

They have planned this so badly the Commandant has had to order a shed load of rank slides to Cadet Directs specifications (assuming she has an ACO Credit Card) what’s the chances of them planning for other things they wanted to change?!

That sounds like a common sense reaction to a problem… Don’t think they will somehow!

Think it depends on what date you was commissioned and when your OIC is

July commission. Doing the course in the new year

The way I see it, the CFC doesn’t actually exist until 01 Oct… If people are already commissioned, even if they haven’t done the knife and fork course, then they should get both when they finish OIC.
They cant just say they extended the CFC prior to the intro date - that’s just stupid.

Be worth a question on Bader though I’d say

Thanks. That was my thinking but thought I’d check nothing was announced yet.

Guess we won’t really know until someone asks on Bader and people going to OIC after Oct tell us :joy:

So as we are only getting blue rank slides, is this a way of down playing ‘green’ activities or forcing staff to break the Dress Regs by wearing blue slides on greens!

It’s like the expectation of SNCO’s to wear Number 1’s, there are dress regs and they get JI’s telling them to wear them but they aren’t scaled for them.

Was discussing this very thing last night - and whether the absence of the VRTness and move to CFC could also impact on CFC holders not being scaled for No 1s. Not “RAF Officers” afterall.

Consider yourself lucky - I buy my own rank slides.

I would much rather give my money to cadet kit shop than ripoff direct though. I hate that company.

Surprised ripoff direct didnt jump the gun and event went for GPJ and Jeltex backed slides… Instead we shall look like unprofessional muppets with dark blue backing which will stand out - especially when its about 9cm long slides.

You know, I have never had an issue with wearing dark blue rank slides on every uniform type. Had it not been for some “precedent” it would have been a sensible way forward.

But NCO is different to Officer - the dress regs state that backing material for Plt Off / Fg Off should be the same as the clothing worn, as Flt Lt and above wouldn’t typically have backing material

But as the dress regs will need to be changed anyway to include the revised badging that wouldn’t be an obstacle, would it?

Depends how long they take to update!

I heard a rumour of £54k has been/will be spent on badges… allegedly from GP fund!

At the advertised retail cost, that just about fits the current strength. They need to change suppliers or get a better deal per unit qty.
