That one is in hand and will be part of the next sprint or the next sprint after that - depends on what Andy can get done.
Yes, that’s correct.
Again, that’s correct - that functionality is currently switched off as it was thrashing the servers and we will be looking at redesigning the cards/table and that stuff will be removed.
Excellent! If you have any photos of the cadets using CP, please tag us on twitter/facebook/instagram etc
No, we don’t have any eligibility criteria built into Cadet Portal mainly because we didn’t want to frighten people too much with the deployment of CP and then adding that in as well. We are about to start work on version 1.1.0 which will include eligibility for AEF/VGS as a starter for ten. That will mean that cadets who are not the correct age or classification will not be able to bid for these types of events. We will then let that settle for a period of time before we do any further eligibility restrictions.
Minor tweaks and bugs aside, this rollout has been smoother than anything else released to us the last few years. Cadets are already reporting absences and jumping on every event they can.
Cracking effort by @james_elliott and team. Well done guys!
Getting notifications for being accepted to events on Cadet Portal but nothing via email, Has the notification module been disabled?
Also a suggestion, In the future will it be possible to send notifications for WHT’s/FA Trainings expiring? and maybe advising the cadet when the next training is?
Can’t imagine cadets need all the files uploaded though? JIs would ordinarily be enough, they don’t need all of the risk assessments for the vast majority of activities.
We may be talking about two different possibilities here…
For events created by others e.g. Wing SMEs - They select the files to go on Cadet Portal and then the Sqn staff don’t need to do anything more than push the event to the portal.
Files are already taken care of and if the organiser adds a new one and ticks the “Cadet Portal” box it will automatically appear for the Sqn’s cadets.
If the Sqn creates an SMS event they they are responsible for ticking the box for each file they want their cadets to be able to access.
Has anyone else noticed that since Cadet Portal was switched on, all ultilearn records have been wiped from SMS? We can’t see any details of any cadet now, unless we log into their ultilearn account.
I know Moodle has been touted as the replacement, but what do we do until then if this isn’t working?
You can see it. Select a cadet, On the classification drop down box select summary. A summary of classification passed and outstanding will be summarised a few seconds later at the bottom of the page
Just took me a couple of goes to get it to load correctly. Never loaded on one cadet, navigated to another and it was there, back to the first and presto! Refreshing might have had the same effect.
All of the above are reasons why we need to progress the replacement LMS project. We have an officer selected for the primary duty role and they are going through the transfer process to HQ. Once sorted, they will be tasked with writing a proposal for Command Board on how we should progress the LMS replacement involving all of the various stakeholders.
Ultilearn results have always been very hit and miss.
It does take ages to load and there’s no indication that is happening - no “hourglass” or similar. You just have to know that it should appear at some point shortly.
But often times the data simply are not there. It seems totally random. Shows up one day… Not there the next time you look.
