Best mate moved to the US for a 3 year secondment 5 days ago. He is face palming pretty hard right now.
We will keep on keeping on, but I do feel a little despair over that lot across the pond. Seems mad to me that Trump should even be allowed to be a candidate in the first place.
We know a family where the hubby works for a US multinational - he was offered, and took, a move to Florida.
They’ve got three kids. One is autistic, another is gay. Hubby is out there, and they are still going to follow him.

I think far more blame is attributable to those in the Republican party leadership, his media bubble (Fox etc), the Supreme Court and other ‘leaders’ who has supported, financed and enabled Trump for a decade. He’s repeatedly shown that he’s corrupt and criminal, yet he’s a useful pawn for the rich and powerful. While the Democrats failed to put forward a winning argument or candiate, the Republicans have continually supported an anti-democratic, wannabe dictator who will do anything for money and power.

I guess it is mathematically still possible if no more votes go to Trump as he’s not at 270 yet.
But highly unlikely
The Orange One has still got outstanding court cases against him… 
Which will be put on hold until after he leaves office, depending on if he lives that long (he’s in his 80s)

I think you can only pardon for crimes confirmed.
It gets complicated as America is a common law system & the pardon stems from the royal prerogative of mercy that was transferred to the office of president.
So perhaps the need to request a legal analyst from the privy council…which would be ironic for a republican

Not sure of the jurisdiction, but weren’t some associated with alleged fraud (whilst President) & these were given the green light to go ahead, irrespective of his position as POTUS at the time? If so, surely, no big difference?
Clearly, the level of “good character” is very different in the US of A versus other countries - although, that said, Boris doesn’t exactly have a unblemished halo! 
For the Ukraine situation, I know that they could be a myriad of reasons why a lot of military aid from the USA hasn’t been delivered yet, but I do wonder if the more level-headed people said “let’s just slow things down in case of political upheaval, the decision can’t be changed+++, at least we can guarantee what we have promised so far.”

This is depressing.
It gets better: he appears to be on course to control both houses of Congress too - as well as already controlling the Supreme Court.
We’re now in global worst case scenario territory.
