Oh, I should clarify… I wasn’t the original recipient
I’m guessing “or”?
Not sure what that school’s uniform policy actually is apart from “wear over welfare”.

The secondary I attended had exactly this rule, plus a small change:
If the Union Flag was flying on the flagpole (we only had one over a very large site) then you could also remove your blazer outside of the classroom. Otherwise blazers at all times, and no option for boys to wear shorts except during PE.
You can remove your blazer …. But you absolutely MUST retain you vest, undershirt, overshirt, waistcoat, tie, tunic and overcoat when outdoors.
Don’t give them ideas, I think my school would have introduced waistcoats with pocket watches and top hats if they had felt it right. And this was a state school.
The school I work is much more enlightened. During this unseasonal hot September it has authorised shorts as option for boys and girls. Also no enforcement of jumpers or blazer.
Same for staff. I am sat in my office in shorts.
On a side note. With global warming et, the BBC weather stated that it was officially tropical in temperature in some parts of the UK. Is it time for No7 dress to be issued to all?
Same and I have been all week, alongside my range of Polo / T Shirts
We’ve got the air con on too
I’m sat in my outdoor office (the garden) wearing shorts too.
Can barely see my laptop screen though.
My daughter’s girls’ school used to be very strict about blazers (similar rule as posted about only taking them off in class). However, ever since Covid (when they stopped changing for PE / games in school) most of the girls seem to wear sports kit E all the time (presumably relying on their teachers not knowing what other lessons they have each day).
So any bets when HQAC put out it is hot and you must rewrite your RAs for this weekend as the heatwave predicated a week ago has only just turned up outside our window, i am guessing 1430, their home time. Nb: most sqns have probably done it already.
Would have come out earlier in the week I think. Not much chance of a late notice again after the last bashing that was had.
Hopefully they’re at least comfortable enough in the policy to not want to do that.
Even if others have some issues and disagreements with it, it is there with objective parameters and the idea should be to not feel the need to make a subjective judgement from on high.
We’ve already had that email a couple of days ago.
I’m waiting for the stop notice.
C&E are all over it already
Will the RAFAC be at the Southport air show starting tomorrow?
So, we discussed a bit in this thread already about the cold injury training (or lack there of) and there is still nothing available directly to us, even though the MOD have been requiring it for a few months now.
However, LaSER have just had an email from our TSA that is pretty good and outlines all the basics. Including mention that this training should be available soon to us via Learn. It states Cranwel is putting together a package, which hopefully means we wont just get a cut+paste copy of the standard MOD one, as we have for heat illness.
Indeed.
Can we use the existing PowerPoints to brief cadets on activities where cold might be an issue though?
There should be an IBN out on it soon. It’s actively being looked at.
LaSER had a hypothermia incident within the last year didn’t they?
Not sure. I can’t remember a specific incident, but that may well be true.
Our TSA is generally proactive anyway with this sort of thing, rather than just being reactive.
