I wonder if this was considered at RIAT last year:
Considering all accommodation will have been booked up far in advance so any on spec requirement would mean a long journey for vacancies.
When Air Fete at Mildenhall was a thing, the campsite we used at the end of the runway used to take bookings from the first of January, so I always sent a New Years card with a booking request.
right, i’m going mad - i could have thought that the cadets CI training had it’s own topic (but alas I can’t find it)
Has anyone figured out/Is there a report for seeing which cadets have completed their version of the CI training?
There is no report to show which cadets have completed it.
so it’s a case of going through cadet by cadet on units… great
edit
Also, is it normal that it just advises the date accessed, it only appears to say ‘No’ wrt ‘Passed’
Be careful when running reports off Units for completion of modules, the excel download display the modules in different orders depending on type of role I.e. officer are in a different order to SNCOs which are different to CIs etc.
Then either Units & Learn haven’t finished syncing up, or the cadets didn’t complete it. . .
Whilst elements of this HI training is relevant, parts are overkill.
More and more work for volunteers.
If all of this is needed and HQAC want AT ton continue they need to hire extra perms to do this paperwork.
and now the First Class Heat Exhaustion/Stroke IET training/Logbook answers are out of sync with the Heat Illness Prevention training
This is a publicly available extract of a JSP, hosted on the Government’s website.
Please tell me if you have a different interpretation, but it appears to suggest that CFAVs may have to undertake the RAF PTI course to become qualified in using the WBGT is being mandated…
Not really; it just says training is provided on those courses. Presumably a bespoke course could be developed and added to that list.
Besides, it’s not really mandated anymore (as MOMDIS can be used in most situations) when they realised that purchasing them and training people to use them would actually be required.
IBN uses the term should in relation to QT34 use, not must.
Had anyone attempted to add any locations to the MOMIDS forecast list recently?
I’ve followed the info and used the address on the Safety Centre site but seem to get an undeliverable return from Outlook saying the address doesnt exist?

I got loads added when the process was first put out. Met Office lady was very helpful - I would have only used the contact details for given by the safety centre.
Not done any very recently mind you.
I went out for a jog in really dense fog this morning AND THE FOG WAS WARM! First time I’ve ever experienced fog not sapping the heat.
QT34 being mandatory would have been interesting; high temperature (around 20c or so when I headed out at 0730) with 100% humidity…
Yes, according to the policy.
We had no fog, it was humid but the air still had a slightly autumnal bite where I am. That was just after 8.
Yes; I was paddleboarding through that this morning - and it was an unusual experience! On the water at 0700 in thick fog. It was a bit nicer (briefly) when the fog burned off around 0800, but the heat hadn’t quit kicked off. By 0900 I was completely soaked - but not through falling in! I gave up shortly after.
Is that blazer or jumper? Or both?
