I don’t mind but I’ve tried the course multiple times (home computer work computer Sqn computer, various combinations of browsers) and it still won’t register. I think I’m up to about 10 attempts now but it doesn’t even record attempts!
The powers that be can’t be that bothered about training currency.
A further update has been made, not 100% sure if that resolves entirely the current inability for it to record success (need someone with something due to attempt - fire ideally as it’s next / next / finish)
Fire training marks as complete now
Fire training now completes, will be back in compliance after next sync
I mean, yeah, it registers. But all you have to do is launch the ppt and then click next. There’s nothing requiring you to actually read the ppt.
Complete farce. And entirely pointless.
HQAC, we all know you read this, just sack off mandatory training until Moodle arrives, there is literally no point to what we’re doing.
This
It’ll be better to sack it of in terms of compliance too. Currently anyone with fire training might not have done it. Do may as well wait until it can be recorded properly surely? And this goes for most courses let’s be honest.
I’m not doing any until Moodle comes out as I guarantee I’ll be made to redo them anyway. I’ve had a couple of red X’s since VP was launched and it’s yet to be questioned so
I disagree with sacking it off entirely. It could easily be run it as a national virtual training course on Teams. 1 night a month get a Regional HSO to deliver it over a 60-90min session. An SMS gets put in with all attendees, qualification can be tagged on to show attendance. Job done.
Whilst sitting the course this way doesn’t guarantee engagement or imparting knowledge, it does as much as opening and closing a PowerPoint! It does, at least, give a verifiable and auditable trail… And we do know how H&S types believe this is important.
What… for fire training.
No thanks.
Its not rocket science.
Many of us have proffesional jobs where we get this training as part of our normal day job mandatory stuff anyway.
Besides that would be even more pointless.
200 people log in.
195 people then go watch eastenders etc amd log out at end.
Probably about the same as open/close PowerPoint then gain the mandatory training tick then!!
This is, at least, a method HQ could employ to address the shortfall being incurred through Ultifail. And is equally applicable to any course where similar dramas appear.
It’s almost like there’s no plan B. No backup. No contingency. Isn’t there a quote about failing to plan is planning to fail?? Taught, perhaps, on JNCO courses??? Hmmm…
I’ve done online so called training at work and having done these things over the years, sitting through 30 to 65 minutes of videos is an insult. So click through, answer the questions, job jobbed in 5-10 minutes, download shiny certificate, time for tea and biccies.
OK to maybe sit through the first time, but after that a 5 minute refresh is all you need if that.
How much mandatory training do we need, apart from safeguarding? Which should again be presented as a refresh with any new things that may have come to light since the last time.
Anyone who has done any of the mandatory training since Ultilearn has been ‘working’ noticed it reflect on VP?
Yeah, I did Fire Training a week ago and it came through as required.
I refreshed some training and it hasn’t updated on VP. Just going to resort to the old screenshot it and plonk it in the SMS profile files
I did my fire training just as it came back before the bank holiday and it’s still not reflected. Guess I need to flag it.
Sorry to bring this back. I am a cadet and am trying to access some courses such as the Space courses but the Progressive training syllabus part of ultilearn is not showing for me. Is this a know issue and is there a fix
The only learning content on Ulitlearn is mandatory training for staff and staff cadets. For cadets there are also your classification assessments but not a lot else. Everything has been moved to the Training Hub, not accessible to cadets.
I have previously completed this course and was trying to prove it. Is there anyway for my staff to do this.
Yes, blue space was previously on Ultilearn but all learning content was subsequently moved to Training Hub around September 2021.
I’m not entirely sure this is true.
@Raven could you try visiting this link, logging in with your Cadet Portal details?

(Very interested to know whether you have access or not)
