This is a little unfair to Liz Truss - it was perfectly reasonable for her to try & manufacture a personality, mainly on the grounds she didn’t have one in the first place.

Sorry, this is a fair observation and I realise I missed a key part of the discussion out. The idea was how it is largely being done to preserve American jobs, and the point was that Americans could then lose jobs as a result (ie the jobs haven’t been taken, they’re simply extra jobs that exist because there is greater demand).
I’m sure there will be other arguments against that point though.

More broadly though, the issue is that “getting rid of illegals” is resulting in the targeting of people who “don’t look American”.

And because they’re being denied due process in many cases, the practice isn’t aligned to the stated intent.

I would need to check historical references, but I believe that the early days of Nazism principles of racial segregation were very much mirrored on those existing at the time in 'Merica.

The likelihood of the Tories forming the next government is currently slim, but it’s one of my key concerns about them putting a number of the amount of people they claim they will deport if they do form it.
“Well, we have a target to hit. Go out there and round-up people who don’t look like they belong here and stick them on a plane - they can lodge any appeals from Rwanda, now that we’ve abolished the ECHR!”
Under such circumstances, you can almost guarantee that British citizens and permanent residents would be caught up, in a desperate attempt to please their fervent voters and show that they’re “doing something” about the problem.

Noticed that the Trump-appointed judge who blocked him got her house burned down…
Or at least, it set alight while she was out and her husband broke some bones jumping out a window to escape the flames…
I saw that yesterday, but there was not yet any confirmation whether it was arson or accidental, so didn’t share it.
Having just gone and had another look, the initial findings don’t indicate malice, so hopefully just an accident and not another political attack.

They’ve been indiscriminately arresting anyone without documents just because they have dark skin. Be that US citizen or otherwise.
