Just to clarify some points - any targeting / attack planning / implementation would have a very high security classification attached to it.
From the Beeb (& elsewhere):
The messages in the second chat, sent on 15 March, included flight schedules for American F/A-18 Hornets carrying out strikes on Houthi targets.
Whilst Hegseth said that he didn’t list specific targeting information in his chat(s) (the ones we are aware of!), by the nature of the intended attacks, the expected geographical area was very small, as was the most likely range of tgts (command & control, weapon launch & manufacturing bases, potential air defence sites, etc, etc). Some of these would have an element of mobility, or, the ability to evacuate key personnel. Similarly, there might have been enough time to set up spoof locations or minimise comms transmissions with change of EMCON. There would also have been time to set up a counter-attack from Yemen prior to the American strikes, you can’t hide a carrier + fleet!
His actions could have significantly weakened the planned effect of the attacks as well raising the risk for the American personnel taking part.
Op planning is very rarely above secret, otherwise the people at the sharp end wouldn’t be able to be told what they were supposed to be doing. The highest classifications are to protect very sensitive sources, capabilities, deniable operations, etc.
not only is that funny that the Pro-Trump channel is highlighting why not to be Pro-Trump, but in both cases (first and second terms) his rating was below 50%
While the high of 63% is impressive and 54% is still positive in that more people “approve” the numbers suggest that in both terms, there were more people against him that for him…
As cleverer people than me have worked out, it takes about a month for shipping (with containers with all their goodies) from China to USA (LA). Longer timings to get to other USA ports.
From the felon’s initial tarrif tantrums this month, that equates to about 10-11 May. After that, I’m guessing there will be a huge drop in shipped goods arriving.
Ah, after about a month or so, shortage of stock, warehouses emptying, people being laid off as no work?
Even if the one said “oops, I made a boo-boo” - the lead time to resume production in China (if they would trust the US of A), then start shipping again = much more than a month.
I believe when it was first set, CBA clarified that anything on the water by a first deadline and/or in port by a second was ok.
There are companies that deal internationally that have rerouted US-bound shipments to other markets.
Some are just pausing orders even going so far as to halt orders that are ready for shipment to try to wait out the initial turbulence.
Another option being used is the US has approved companies that operate like a port which isn’t a part of the USA - so the shipment has arrived but is treated like it hasn’t for tax purposes. That way, instead of paying a tariff on a 6 or 7 figure shipment, you call off smaller orders for a kind of PAYG tariff scheme to help with cash flow.
Used to fly (on A300-B4) 40 tonnes of Nokia 'phones / equipment from Stockholm to Amsterdam nightly; there were 6 such flights per week. Two other cargo companies did the same, so that was 120 tonnes of Nokia stuff each week!!
Nah, the Nokia models then were top notch, such as the 3310 (battery would last a month on standby!), we used them for company phones. Think they are on the rebound as retro “no gimmick” ‘phones.
The Lady Chief would probably like what Trump is doing. No one allowed any opinions at all and judicial independence is a good thing as long as it’s against politicians, but no one allowed to challenge her
Makes me want to go out and buy a Tesla, but it would have to be one of the earlier ones (when they looked like Jags, with more chrome and less plastic).
