It’s a shambles. They shouldn’t be using Signal for anything sensitive. The US has spent billions on systems line JWICS, SIPRNet and NIPRNet which is what should be used for stuff like this.
Even normal day to day stuff shouldn’t really be done via anything third party when operating at that level.

Honestly, I think not.
Every single person in that chat should know that this sort of thing should not be discussed on any third party platform. Yet I can’t see anyone getting in significant trouble over this. At best, an intern might be made to take a fall.

My biggest takeaway here is Trumps senior leaders complete contempt for Europe. We’re meant to be allies. Reading this, you wouldn’t think that.

At least during Trumps last term he had some relatively sensible people around him to keep things in check. This time around he’s surrounded him self with actual idiots. No checks and balances. Signal-gate appears to may be a cracking example of that.
The most fascinating insight this has given me, assuming it was never intended to be seen, is that it gives me the first real glimpse into the actual minds of these people.
That’s how they talk when they’re not trying to convince us of anything.
