Trump's Second Term Chat

It would be nice to see some objective positives about the new administration’s policies.

I haven’t seen any.

If you’re super wealthy then there are certainly many positive of the new administration coming in!

Apologies I was basing my info on the first time this was muted.

However could trump become speaker & then the president & vice-president resign simultaneously?

Listening to his speech actually makes me feel a bit sick.

It’s bringing back memories of all the nonsense from last time.

Also, his mental decline is so much more obvious. His reading off the teleprompter in a complete monotone emotionless voice is just a bit sad. Hal the time he’s only managing a couple of words at a time…

There’s a real opportunity for Europe to increase its influence globally as a result of a Trump presidency.

My working theory is that this is why President Musk Trump is sowing the seeds of division so feverently across Europe - a unified Europe is in prime position to take the US’s global primacy position and become one of the geopolitical poles of the world.

However, with Fico and Orban still in power, the likelihood of Europe realising this potential is quite small presently.

We’re about to get the ‘unscripted’ bit. This is where it gets interesting!

you are far to confident in the state of our democracy…

4,117,610 people voted for Trumps lackey in July, and seem to think Smashing up their towns and signing petitions can recall an election

All I’m saying is that this government isn’t very popular and we may well have another GE maybe 2027-2028

Luckily the Yanks had some foresight to prevent that
To run as VP you must be eligible to run for Pres

Alllllthoughhhh
He could become President Pro-tempore of the senate, have a republican pres run (with his kids or other spineless lackeys), have them step down and
Boom
according to the Constitution Trump 3rd term

It’s quite difficult to feel positive about a convicted criminal pandering to billionaires so much he’s giving them government roles while making comments that amount to a reignition of his nation’s colonialism.

WN, I have a film for you to watch… please don’t cry Brexit: uncivil war

Ultimately it doesn’t matter and won’t anytime soon, the way our system is set up it doesn’t matter what happens Labour don’t need an election until 2029.

Also due to the way our system works all voting Reform achieves is a Labour government as you are never going to have enough Conservative voters jump ship to avoid splitting the vote.

I’ve said before that all Spode really wants is the Conservatives to get scared enough to merge with Reform and make him Lord Nigel of Jaywick.

In my view, that kind of suits the person, he is real Jaywick quality!

He could become Speaker, but wouldn’t be in the line of succession as ineligible to be President. They’d just skip to the next person in the line who is eligible. In reality I don’t think we’ll ever see another (Donald) Trump presidency, changing the constitution is too hard in the States. You’d never get the consensus amongst the individual states to make the necessary changes.

Also, he is a nearly 79 year old president…he may not survive the full 4 years.

Are you telling me that he isn’t the image of a man in peak physical fitness?

Given he cant see his little trump when he looks down, id guess hes on the heart attack risk register.

Although the Trump v Obama 2028 would be really interesting!

Ohh, now we’re talking! Overturn the constitution and allow a 3rd turn, but now we get Obama vs Trump. Hadn’t even considered that as an option. That would get messy.

(There’s no way Trump will still be standing in 4 years though, as in, physically standing upright.)

Trump going down in the 4 years would be really bad, his VP is an empty suit, better Trump than that.

2028 is going to be interesting for the Republicans, there won’t be a clear successor as dictators don’t like people who challenge them and it will be a gamble for the republicans as to who/what they want from a candidate.

Agree. Especially if it’s assassination or anything that could be spun as a potential conspiracy. Vance would leverage that so much to shut down civil liberties.
