Here’s the confirmation & news article. Note that it’s not the International court of Justice set up in 1946 but the criminal court created in 2002.

Also a little bit on the ICC itself - does seem it doesn’t have as much support as it portrays & Trump is not acting much different to bush Obama or Biden.

The Americans have never supported the ICC, they sail too close to the wind to risk having the jurisdiction of an independent criminal court over their troops.

This will be a guy to watch, probably not for the good!

And under this presidency, it wouldn’t be a shock to see the invocation of the Invasion of The Hague Act

Seeing Tesla results fall off a cliff in europe has made life a but more tolerable.

That’s something that both Trump and Musk won’t get, they can put whatever Tariffs and demand whatever they want in a trade agreement, you can’t make people buy your product.

Elsewhere too. They aren’t the only major player in the game any more.

I don’t know why all these Americans are obsessed with “waste of taxpayer’s dollars” when they seem to waste so much at home. I’ve seen a couple of people on X complain about their electricity bills and how they have an added portion for where they pay some charitable contribution that helps those who can’t afford to pay. I’d agree with their sentiment, had they not missed the part where they were using an entire year’s worth of electricity in one month. Hell, there was one where they said they had gone away for the entire month, and still billed for more electricity than I use in a year, and didn’t use electric heating. It’s easy to blame the federal government rather than actually check where your own dollars are actually going!

Wonder what the tariff will be on this excellent product? :smiling_imp:

I love those bog brushes! Seen one out in the wild some time ago.

I think in all this rhetoric we do need to put balance in where we can.

I think he might have a point with this one….

Paper straws are naff, but I don’t think they require an executive order. He really doesn’t know how to do anything else.

Also, metal straws are superior.

It isn’t a binary choice between paper and plastic. There are plant based materials that are indistinguishable from plastic: why not make straws out of those instead of paper?

I did see someone suggest hemp as an alternative?

So you are saying that Donald Trump has only been president for three weeks & he’s already clutching at straws…? :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Cheapest option?

Not having straws (or lids) at all would surely be the cheapest option? Customers could lift their cups to their lips, like grown ups.

Perhaps this is just strawman politics….
