Trump's Second Term Chat

Like i said earlier…let ukraine join NATO. Putin doesnt have the resources to take on the whole world. Ukraine has demonstrated that.

US would veto along with a few others.

Good interview here from SoS Marc Rubio giving a relatively balanced assessment.

Them joining the EU (which has a defence clause) has a better chance of success, but even then Fico and Orban will immediately reject the idea because they’re Putin’s Poodles.

He looked incredibly uncomfortable during the argument in the Oval Office.

From what I read he was the main person brokering & convincing Trump to accommodate Zelenskyy.

Yep, said it before, he is good. Some different view points to me, but he is a statesman who understands global politics.

So… He won’t last then?

This is the man MAGA think is putting in 110% effort to reduce waste… Ha.

The JEF seems like the best option for Ukraine to join for me, rather than NATO or the EU.

Due to its Northern European composition, I think every member would be on board with Ukraine joining and we could bring Ukraine under the UK’s nuclear umbrella (as we did for Sweden and Finland when negotiating NATO membership).

Put on the tele after a shopping day.

BBC 2 is showing darkest hour & halfway through.

Precisely at the moment when Churchill is speaking to the Americans trying to get help.

The Americans refuse to help & are evasive & when Churchill mentioned the P60 aircraft the uk had purchased from the US, Kissinger said (in the film) they couldn’t be handed direct but the US could leave them at the Canadian border & the British could send a team of horses to push them across.

It seems a very timely & interesting parallel.

“we’ll leave them by the border and if we catch you crossing the border you’ll be arrested as an illegal alien suspected of smuggling fentanyl. You will then be extradited to Russia when they wish to imprison you for aiding Ukraine”.

Watching the news about JD Vance running away from peaceful protesters in Vermont has reminded me of a famous quote from Zelenskyy; “I need ammunition, not a ride.”

If shots were fired by an enemy state inside the continental USA, do we imagine we’d hear a similar quote from the current administration?

Had to say I was impressed with Starmers Speach today, was very measured so that Trump won’t feel he was having a pop while saying what needs to be said.

It certainly seems Europe as a whole is taking this well, not just Starmer. I’m hoping that some proper statesmanlike diplomacy can bring the US back on side. However it shows that if that is not possible, Europe will do what ever it can to support Ukraine. As it should.

I genuinley think with him and his government is its the long game…really tough decisions about everything now for longer term success but thats its own thread.

It does appear though he seems to have the ability manage the orange dofus
