It’s what is missing from our current system.
Many times have we had cadets selected….. then drop out last minute, because they signed up, never told parents… then parents have made other plans.

Copilot has finally been deployed to Office 365 at work!!!
I just asked it to compare 3 datasets and output matches to a new spreadsheet
I didn’t have to intervene at all. No silly questions. No prompts. Just got on with what I asked and took less than 20 seconds to output the workbook!

Problem is it won’t be able to resolve the contradictions and the local "exception"s.
But in theory it should be very good at flagging those contradictions, enabling specific measures to review said contradictions, thus churning out sound guidance!

Annoying issue with accreditations for MS Office (or MS365 what ever it is called now!).
Old Macbook Air - starting to get erratic on performance, freezing & requiring power down to clear issues. Had it since Jan 2014. Space key broke off so have been using bluetooth keyboard (just managed a 90% repair if the spacebar, but the performance issues are the main problem).
Anyway, just got a brand new Macbook Air (M5), all singing & dancing.
Old one - can sign in (normal email address) to MS Word, etc. I transferred all my data to the new one - didn’t want to risk old one stopping completely, although I regularly back up to a separate hard drive (Passport for Mac).
The new one - won’t accept the “normal” sign-in - looks like a very different accreditation process = account not recognised (using the “restore previous purchase” option). I tried different accounts (including my RAFAC one) = same result, can’t sign in = can’t edit any of my Office-based documents. So, still having to use old one for the time being…
Any suggestions please before I bite the bullet & sign-up for a new account? It’s “only” £8.49 / month for personal MS365 (or £10.49 / month for MS365 Family - might be handy for Mrs J). Yep, aware of the freebies & Apple’s options, but I do prefer the MS Office suite.
It could be an issue with the fact your old MacBook will be an Intel model and this new one is Apple Silicon.
I’d advise nipping to the Apple Store to see if they can help if you don’t want a new account. It’s odd that the account itself won’t work — I might expect a file type issue.

From what you say above it looks like you have an old ‘perpetual’ licence for Office Mac.
Those licences would run on the Apple Silicon Macs under Rosetta 2, but Rosetta 2 is discontinued anyway so really not worth the bother.
You should be able to use the free online version of Office (and/or the RAFAC version) Free Microsoft 365 Online | Word, Excel, PowerPoint and be able to open the files, even if they are the older .ppt / doc not .pptx docx etc. But you’ll need a Microsoft account.
I’d recommend trying that before signing up to M365, in case there is some other issue going on.
I don’t think you can restore the previous perpetual licences though. I’m keeping a Mac of the same vintage going for just that reason - on mine the speakers have gone!
ETA - download the Mac Teams client, sign in with RAFAC, will open the files (or should). Teams is a free download. Your request has been blocked. This could be due to several reasons. (link should work despite message)
