Tailored Uniform

I think the RAC (tankers not roadside assistance) have the most ally jumpers

Always fancied doing that but I’ve still never had the balls to

When i was a cadet I wore that on a range day, strangely enough a Flt Lt rocked up dressed just like me. From my wing I’ve seen a few cadets wearing wooly pulleys

Just do it.

Noone has given a damn yet.

It is silly really that our indoor uniform has more approved warm layers than our outdoor one.

Just so I’m clear, we’re talking MTP trousers, MTP barrack shirt, olive green jumper?

With OG backed rank slides. :sunglasses:

That’s what I use on my MTP anyway! Amazing. I’m going to get an OG Jumper and join this strange fashion parade!

No 13 Dress is my fav out the lot of the millions of army dress variations.

Crucially, from a non-approved provider.

With RAFAC embroidery rather than RAF Air Cadets

I think we ought to bring back the crewneck sweater and make that permitted dress with MTP trousers

Are you suggesting a RAF blue jumper and MTP trousers?
We’ll look like the RLC Port and Maritime Regt who wear RN jumpers.
Where do I sign up?

Yeah, RAF Blue jumpers (crew neck) for barracks wear and OG for the field.

That I didn’t know!

No different from the old days when you could carry a blue jumper as a warm layer at Nijmegen.
Alongside OG trousers, Wedgewood shirt and DPM combat jacket.

What a time to be alive!

Oh yes.

I do wonder what those born after the Cold War make of half the posts on here though.

… I had to wear Puttees at Cranwell…

Always fun when you only had 10 minutes from end of PT to shower change and get to next lesson…

I only make that point by a few months mind. Sep 89.

I’m not even sure if academics agree when the Cold War ended. Between 1989 and 1992 certainly.
