2313 (The Chalfonts) Sqn, Herts & Bucks Wing closed 2018 and the cadets and staff went to 1280 (Rickmansworth) Sqn. This was due to 2313 having no dedicated accommodation and living out of a car boot on a site that was developed for housing. No too sure what Sqn number they are now carrying but 1280 had a good building and 2313, good staff and cadet numbers. When it comes to finances, it matters not about history.

265 was a new Sqn created in 2011/2 after they had resolved accommodation issues, so not a number off the top of the pile.

Whilst on this track it is worth saying that according to the Law, all new Charities created (in England & Wales) after 31 January 2009 are supposed to be registered at the Charity Commission.

There is no dispensation so it is not clear how the RAFAC is circumventing the Law.

The HMRC are aware of the law, so potential claims for gift aid might be affected.

Please try your best not to derail every single thread you post in

Who says 265 aren’t registered? They don’t have an exception order reference so it’s highly likely you’re talking cobblers.

Here we go…

If they were registered it should be possible to access their details on the CCEW website, but they are not the only ones and I have first hand knowledge of that one. As it happens new Exception order references ceased - CCEW did not authorise new ones because the Law says they cannot do that, and the only references are those of HQAC who seem to link these new with old ones purely to help process Gift Aid applications with HMRC.

Have you seen an instruction from HQAC telling Trustees to Register - it remains in ACP10/11 to be a Trustee decision, and nicely avoids any reference to 31/1/2009 and anything the Law says.
Those documents also avoid the compulsory registration process in Northern Ireland.

So who is talking cobblers now?

So they definitely have a >£5k turnover?

Topic?

My thoughts exactly.

Clue is in the title “closure”. Not “opening”.

Come on now… Let’s be realistic. It wouldn’t be a day ending in “day” if Aries didn’t derail the conversation into some claim about the legal status of CivComs and how HQAC are breaking the law.
