No harm in registering, and if you do more then all the better.
I remember that beer festival - was a great adult staff social & great networking.
I think I read on social media it’s something to do with the church hall they use to use being damaged & unavailable.
no no, my car is still in bits
Registered - anyone around Manchester area Sunday? Plan is a few shorter walks after work tomorrow and Friday, then an early morning walk Saturday as I’m on duty, then a decent KM amount Sunday
It’s been 8C, raining and thundering the yesterday and today. So not done anything. Hopefully it’s clearing tomorrow and Sunday, so might get two days in!
I’m going to struggle to hit distance this year, simply because work has been so busy; I’ve been away all week up until today.
Might have the chance to do something in some hills on Sunday, but otherwise it’s going to be difficult.
I’d planned a nice 18km stroll for today, but it’s currently raining the hardest I think I’ve seen here yet, and still below 10C. Really not my kind of walking weather nowadays!
Tomorrow and Sunday is looking better though.
I could be wrong, but I think it’s only possible from Monday (after the event)
We’re out too - Mum2james has left hers too….
(Bloody chivalry!)
I’m done for the day. 20.2km in 3 hours 12 mins, moving time anyway. My right foot is surprisingly sore. Was tempted to wall to 25km but called it.
I think I’d go further if I slowed my pace down a bit ![]()
12min/km is a little bit on the quick side for a walk, yes…
That said, you’ve achieved 15km more than me today, and it only took you 2:48 longer to achieve it!
My average moving pace was almost a 9min/km! I stop briefly a lot to take photos which is why the overall average gets ruined! I’m pretty rapid on flat ground!
Even your average speed there puts you faster than many parkrunners.
Pah! That’s only 5km / hr. ![]()
One hundred metres / min*** was the standard walking speed when going through Cranditz = 6 km / hr. That was a brisk speed but on the primary leadership camp, the officer cadets would do up to 3 leadership exercise a day where distances of 6k - 8K would be involved; there was often a (shorter) night exercise too. Overall, the total distance to be covered on such a camp was monitored (& limited - can’t remember the exact figure).
*** = very easy to work to a standard & establish accurate timings / ETAs.
I’ve rather ambitiously set off on anther 20+km hike. Not sure my feet will actually manage ![]()
23 miles yesterday… meant to have gone back out today, but came home to a “friendly” letter from the council asking us to trim our bushes that are obstructing a foot path…
Therefore I am currently trimming my bush!
