All or the organisers used to be involved in the cadets but over the years they all retired/moved on or even passed away. I believe TFG Events was formed by the main organiser as a way of getting the event formalised.

Drovers Walks | Green Events
It is in mid Wales starting and finishing in Llanwrtyd Wells and there is a lot of up and down, paths and off road walking. The route is not way marked, you will need a good standard of nav not to get lost.
Heads up / reminder for anyone wanting to do this year’s Dodentocht (Death March)
Registration opens this Saturday (21st March) at 0900 CET (0800 UK)
If you’ve never done it before and you’re nervous - the best advice I’ll offer is “if you can do Nijmegen comfortably, you should be fine! Just make sure you’ve trained and have comfortable shoes & clothes - you’re going to be in them a long while!”
Tickets are likely to sell out on the first day - but lots of tickets will be offered for transfer via the Dodentocht organisers “DotoSwap” - don’t be tempted to buy any via Marketplace or similar. Transfer tickets were available the last couple of years right up until the day of the event.

I was coming on here to ask this exact question - great mind reading!
Just gone on to try to secure my ticket and, in under 3 hours, it’s already sold out for 2026!
They were gone faster than that!
I stayed in the queue in case I could help one of our group - they were sold out by 0911, having gone on sale at 0800!

Don’t lose all faith though. There were loads of spare tickets on DotoSwap up until the day of!
So many so I would still go to Bornem intending to participate.

Thanks for sharing this, our Sqn are doing a 10km walk on the final day of the march, so I’ll most likely sign up and send in my AllTrails data.
Now I’m debating driving ALLL the way to wellingborough for Waendal, or saving myself fo this, I do have an exam on Day one, but It finishes at 11…

This could be fun. I’m actually free the next 4 days! But the weather is looking god-awful.
Possible silly Q, can it be the cumulative total of 4 different walks/hikes/marches starting and finishing in different places, or just it need to be continuous?
Did you do Waendal this year? How was it as I understand they are still rebuilding after Covid / county council merged.
It’s the total distance over the number of days. IIRC, you can only upload one activity per day, but the pin comes from the cumulative total.

I might register as I’m pretty sure I’ll do at least 10km just for funsies at some point over the weekend!
Yes - had a great time. I did 2x 42km with friends old and new.
This was only the third time I’ve done it - not sure how that coincides with the reformation…
One thing that was mentioned was that it USED to coincide with the Wellingborough Beer Festival… which seems no longer the case (we would have sniffed it out), although I did spot a smaller beer festival being hosted by The Horseshoe in Sheep Street… alas we stuck to going to The Golden Lion on Saturday afternoon… and had to get back to the campsite to pack up on Sunday.
A number of familiar faces from across the corps that are always great to catch up with - and what seemed like a growing number of RAFAC teams walking the 2x 25km (road only) routes.
