RIAT Extended Camp Activities

I always find it fascinating that Cadets put their names forward to opportunity and only when they get selected do they then ask what the opportunity is.

In short, @themajor has it right.

within the first hour of arriving you’ll be put to task to build your “home” for the next two weeks, namely your tent. Having learnt how to do that, you keep going for another 3-4 days building up the necessary tents to accommodate all the expected personnel due to arrive.

in addition there will be some “airfield” based activities, such as “gate building” (creating funnels at entrance points for the paying public to filter through into lanes), assisting with park and view, and potentially included in the packed lunch tasking

on the show weekends you tend to get one day on “Crowd line” and another on the of the enclosures.

On Monday there is “FOD PLOD” on the airfield to permit aircraft movements to take place
on Tuesday everyone on Main camp leaves, and the camp begins to come down

if you are on Facebook search RIAT CAMP Cadets for the group where you’ll find plenty of discussion and photos showing what Cadets and CFAVs get up to
