Regulations on the master cadet

So I’ve been wearing the full gold wreath and bird on blue backing(new master cadet) badge juntil recently I was told I cant wear it as its not in regulation. I belive it is since the acp says new classifications involved in rewrite can somebody please give me feedback and advice on how to handle this as I dont want to change it as it was my little prize from gold cyber…

The idea of taking the new badge off, to replace it with an obsolete one, only to have to reverse the process later, sounds ridiculous.

If they bring it up again, and you can stop yourself from laughing, just say you haven’t got around to it yet.

Im really tempted to switch it to my old gold and silver one nothing will ever convince me to wear the ugly white one I belive others are not happy that I have the all the new badges I made a comment on the roadmarching badges and leadership badges of theres being incorrect and wow no response it’s honestly so odd… or even the music badges I have the drum badge yet nobody is angry at that even though it’s even less aloud in my opinion

That kind of hypocrisy really grips me. Honestly, just ignore them.

Even if it’s the sqn snco?:face_holding_back_tears:

If it’s the Sqn SNCO (CFAV) then a more subtle approach may be required. If, as I suspect, it’s a cadet NCO — with incorrect badges if their own — then ignore.

If they mark you down on a uniform inspection for it, challenge and escalate to your adult staff if necessary.

Edit to add: the RAF is not looking for people who follow nonsense orders unthinkingly — challenge is encouraged at all levels.

Disappointed to hear a CFAV is being so petty minded. I hope their RAFAC formation patch has been moved to the top of the blanking plate?

That’s what we call cutting off your nose to spite your face. I’d like to see them try to justify this to your OC if the sqn places below expectations in the competition.

Our Wing was asked to remove the one with the Gold Eagle a couple of years ago and replace it with the all white one. However, when the new classification system comes in, the badges ae going to be shaded Blue, Bronze Silver & Gold - with the new Master Badge being different again to the one with the Gold Eagle - this time the laurels will be gold too - so both current versions will be superceded. So, at this moment in time, the all white one is the current correct badge and the one it replaced will not return in that form - but will be gold in colour - albeit slightly differently.

Im referencing the full gold one

I didn’t even realise the all gold one was in distruibution. ACP 1358 still shows the all white one - so technically you have received a new badge before it is even released.

Did you obtain it by private purchase or is it what was awarded when you passed Master? If RHQs are providing that badge (our’s isn’t) - then surely it can be worn?

At least a query needs raising as to why it is being provided if it is against dress regs?

Not sure if it’s been raised or not on here (had a brief search), but why does ACP1358 still say Master is ATC only?

CCF do part 1, Part 2 & advanced rather than 1st class, leading, Snr.

Master cadet originally replaced something called Staff Cadet part 1. However its badge is not scaled by the RAF so it is funded by the air cadet charity so not available to CCF unless they private purchase.

This changed years ago did it not?!

Well before I joined in 2019 …

Yes you can.

If anyone has an issue with it, I said you can simples. It’s in the back log for V5 of ACP 1358

I fully believed it did but then I saw something that contradicted it like it had reverted back.

ACTO21 which is the space ACTO so very new, specifically mentions it whilst the CCF regulations dated 2019 likewise specifically states proficiency.

All I can think was someone on RAFAC went CCF align with the ATC & someone went “erm….its not quite as simple as that to change the regs”….:man_shrugging:t2: I believe the question has been asked before on here.

Were you secretly in my wing??

I used to carry 3 Sides of ACP 1358 printed in in my pocket…

Edit: Page 20, 45, 130. I’ll leave to the imagination as to why
